Seungho never put this much effort in pleasing another human being so it's a bit of a surprise that he can actually be an attentive lover.
This chapter was way more smuttier than I expected but some nice touches that the author added:
Seungho's brushing Nakyum's foot on his erection --- so hot.
Nakyum reaching out for Seungho's hard on.
All the close ups showing their eye contact
Nakyum head on Seungho's neck when he was being carried over.
My favorite part: Nakyum's thoughts on Inhun. He is still resisting the idea that he likes Seungho and his sister's words are confusing him but at the same time he is feeling the opposite of what she said ... his feelings for Inhun are gone and his yearning for Seungho is growing.
I think we begun the stage where Seungho and Nakyum become closer and more intimate and get some kind of happiness with one another but at the same time more people will be plotting to split them, including Heena.
So, the shippers must be feeling pretty good because it has never been clearer that this story will be exactly what it looked like from chapter one: a Yaoi non con trope where Nakyum and Seungho end together and don't follow social justice/real life acceptable moralistic ending. The author makes no excuse to ship and promote this ship doing all her merch on it.
For the antis, those who stuck around shaming shippers and declaring they would never accept the non con trope relationship, this is the exit door if you were really staying because you thought you were reading social justice literature.
If you didn't like the story before, it will only become worse so better brush up on that excuse that you will be staying for the 'rapist ends with the abuser and I can't accept that' story you picked to choose only for the 'art'.
This story was always a non con nonnormative trope --- one not to be compared with reality, one not to be used to shame people and one to be ignored if the non con trope offends anyone. Too many were here pretending they would be seeing a modern tale of #MeToo relationship but as the story progresses this excuse becomes harder and harder to use to stick around shaming people when they themselves choose to read the endgame that they can't deny anymore.
Antis:
- I'm reading this for the art. ( if they were they could stick with the raws without getting worked up with the plot)
- I've dropped this long time ago ( but know everything that is happening and post on every chapter... with the same whining)
- I don't agree with stories where the abuser ends with the victim --- pick one to read and whines about it .
- The character is unredeemable and they shouldn't end together --- keeps reading even though they know it's exactly what they will get.
- When the character doesn't develop fast enough: there is no character development. When the character finally does something good: the character changed too fast.
Still trying to get a brave Anti to give me an insight.
Please help us understand:
- How do you think this story will end?
- Do you think the author promotes heavily the ship just to do a bait & switch?
- What it will take for the people who never liked this story to reach their limit and take a break? ( a real break not the kind that you hang around here following by proxy)
- How is it to hate read a story for this long?
- What do you have to look for if you won't accept the trope this story is? ( Seungho redemption, relationship, blah, blah, blah)
- If all you take from this story is disappointment and frustration, is it really worthy just because of the art or because it's popular?
- Do you think that there is a part of you who needs the validation of feelilng superior and that's why the only joy on this story is to shame or mock the readers?
- Do you think it's your mission to educate or save people and that's why you follow a known non con story?
- Are you hanging on some kind of hope that, despite the author whole promotion of this story be on the back of the shipping she sells as art, she will turn this into a social justice story and put Seungho in jail or keep them apart?
Anything you can answer without gaslighting. It's easy to understand why readers who like the story are still here despite being not easy to endure the bad parts but it's really a mystery why people who never liked the premise of the plot ( a rape plot where Seungho gets to be with Nakyum ) are so committed to this story to the point of putting themselves through such disappointment.... that it's not even likely to end the way they want.
I never had the experience to follow a story that I don't like or have any joy on it.
The topic is for the most part full of assholes mocking people that don't feel miserable like they are. If people cheer on Seungho minimum bare acts towards softness, they are mocked as if being a nasty hoe bashing a story they can't stop following is the cool thing to do.
Honestly though, this story is 60+ chapters long. It's evident the author is doing her own thing and Seungho will never meet your expectations. This is also a rape plot trope so even if you whine your bitter ass off, this will never be a social justice piece changed for your pleasure.
Besides the dozens of people who keep posting 'I'm dropping this' or 'I dropped this' just to be here again week after week, there are the faithful haters who probably account for more of the hype and popularity of this story than even the fans who are just relaxed following the story as the author is writing.
So, honest question: How is it to hate read a story so faithfully? To wait on every week just waiting for that validation of your opinion that the story or the character is doing exactly what you kind of knew would be? Is it really mocking, shaming, putting down other readers the only joy you can get out of following POTN?
I keep trying to remember if I ever chained myself like this to a story that frustrated me for over a year or two seasons and I feel like it would be such an empty win to have followed a story for I don't know, two years and 100+ chapters and look back and see that I only ever hated every chapter of it.
How does it feel to hate read something just because it's popular?
The psychology is simple: Antis will always exist on popular fandoms. It gives them a warm feeling of superiority. The author is writing Seungho. Mature people would just move on if they don't like how a story is written. The antis are obsessed with self validation and although they know nothing will satisfy them, they find joy on being the antis and the misguided sense of being above the 'clowns' or 'stans' or whatever is the word of the day to mock people for having fun with something they can't enjoy but can't give up either.
I see a lot of interpretations about the green scarf being passed around.
To me it was as simple as the gesture.
It was given twice, both times from someone who was also cold but was protecting someone else.
I just hope Seungho and Nakyum have some time to bond or get close before the next big plan to split them gets in place.
Nakyum blushing the whole time Seungho was looking at him and being soft is always cute.
Min saw Heena at Seungho's house and I bet his plan is about manipulating her to get Nakyum out of the house again.
I think the person in Yellow may be Jihwa (if it's him, this idiot deserves punishment just for being that stupid) or Min himself.
Either way, Min must have saw the golden opportunity when he watched the ruckus that Heena caused in Seungho's house.
She may end up putting her brother in more danger thinking that she will be saving him.
If there is something I despise the most is the brand of people who give themselves of kind of role of defender or spoke person of a community that never gave them that title.
Stop thinking that gay men are your banner or prop to win arguments about stupid fictional characters or Yaoi.
This behavior is way more typical on young teenagers who, as I understand since I was once a teen too trying to prove how 'mature' and woke I was while reading material that was beyond my allowed age.
My brother is gay. I'm bi. He has a laugh browsing my Yaoi story. He laughs at Bara. Even so I am myself and he his own person. It is so irritating watching 13 year olds thinking they are speaking on our behalf when they regurgitate their trained talking points they got from tiktok or instagram or whatever about 'fetish of gay men' or Yaoi is harmful to gay men and people.
I tell you : FUCK YOU. No one gave you permission to take offense on my place on anything or even go around telling people they are responsible for my perceive struggle just because they read yaoi or ship a fucking unrealistic idiotic whatever is your beef of the day fictional couple.
Even if there are gay men or people who may not like specific shit, stop think we are all one size fits all group of people. My brother has his own feelings, it may very well be very different from other gay men because, surprise, even gay people don't all think alike.
Dislike Yaoi as much as you like. dislike a ship or whatever is the thing that makes your butt hurts the most but please, stop using real life people like prop just because you want to win an argument in shit post where you think the universe depends on you shaming a particular group of people for doing absolutely nothing harmful besides harming your self validation needs.
I know. On the other hand, my hero would be a 13 year old who hangs around a certain very popular shounen ai and dissected all the reasons on why a story with cute version of 'dominant seme gets his uke after obsessively stalking, unwanted groping and bullying' is ten thousand times more likely to normalize wrong inappropriate behavior in young minds than any explicit rape plot trope will ever be.
Hahaha I know right? They are EVERYWHERE. Some of them even degraded a kink and dissed a whole community of people with the certain sexual kink. They think they have the right to cancel whatever and dictate which is alright and which is not based on their own standards. Selfish tbh. Insensitive and quite ignorant to boot. They really ain't doing any significant change in the world by being loud like this. They're just filling up their own egos thinking they can make a difference by sitting and in front of a pc or a phone and being keyboard warriors.
I was never the type to argue over internet but I've developed quite the talent because of them every time I try to reason out of their ridiculousness.
TALK YO SHIT KING!!! seriously tho, i understand non mlm people calling out certain things within the BL reader community, bc lets face it, some of these cishet women are out here acting exactly like those cishet men that fetishize everything lesbians do, but there’s a line they shouldn’t cross and dont even realize it. it isn’t their place to speak on how gay men should feel about yaoi or whatever, yet they always wanna put their 2 cents in when it doesn’t cover the majority of how gay men feel. hell, i remember when people were losing their shit over ‘fujoshis’ saying it’s disgusting and anyone that identifies as it are fetishizing gay men, and yet they chose to completely ignore actual queer men explaining the term and why it isnt a bad thing. nothing wrong with calling stupid shit out, but these people need to know when to back off and let the appropriate group voice their thoughts & opinions
I get what u saying but liking yaoi and thinking two men look cute together isn't "fetishizing gay" I just wanna make this point very clear for everyone just like normally u see a girl and boy and think oh they look cute then it's called match making right? Its not fetishizing then but when someone says oh those two men look good together or writes a Wattpad stories about them then it's fetishizing huh? What absolute bullshit is this ,one more thing yaoi is not porn cause ppl literally take it for just that it's a GENRE for fuck's sake yaoi is a genre like shoujo genre with only difference that the main characters are two male ,I know some of the stories r just smut but why do ppl only see those stories and define yaoi on the basis of it,in shoujo too there r stories with only smut but no one calls it's porn right cause then it's hentai just cause yaoi doesn't have yaoi hentai or something that doesn't mean that all the yaoi manga r nothing but two dudes fucking and if u think that then u r fucking sick and find better yaoi manga to read cause I have read plenty of them and most of them very so real and beautiful
oh no i didnt mean it that way!!! i meant how some women will talk shit when men watch fake lesbian porn & overall just act creepy to wlw but turn around and do the same thing w gay men. i think its an issue when you reduce people ONLY to being some sexual figure meant for your satisfaction bc it becomes fetishy, and i say this as a lesbian. sorry if i wasnt clear, i typed that pretty quickly. i do agree w you btw, explicit BL isn’t always necessarily porn(i think A LOT of it is but thats another conversation), one of my favorite BLs is Walk on Water and it’s literally about the gay porn industry and its easily one of the best BLs you can read. just bc something contains mature content shouldn’t automatically categorize it as porn
I get that for a lot of readers that Q&A would be new ( it's not, it's was release way back in season 1) but still, it's interesting how people are taking these questions as selective interpretation to say the author declared that Seungho will be having real life consequences.
Author replying about real life Seungho :This kind belongs in jail
Author replying about fictional Seungho: He can be happy, why not? ( opposite of the answer above)
This is the heart of the two different of people reading this story.
If you can't make peace with the fact that the author is showing here that you are not expected to take her fictional character Seungho as you would see a real life Seungho, you will be frustrated with this story.
The two answers above is only a contradiction for the people who can't accept that people (and the author) are okay with Seungho being happy at the end exactly because he is a fictional character. The author is saying the opposite of what some people are saying in here: her story and character is not bound to the real life moral consequences of their actions. That is even clearer if you take this Q&A back to the time it was written and watch the hints of where this story is going or the art that the author is promoting.
The sad part of this is that some readers who are all giggly with this Q&A thinking that the author meant she will deliver a social justice kind of story will probably refer to this to say the author fooled them.
I'm not a young reader of Yaoi anymore I don't have as much patience for minors reading this who are still lost in something they dislike without finding the exit door.
I have only one think in life I am sure of: no one is to be judged or humiliated or called gross or made feel less of person just because of their tolerance or taste or interpretation on their adult fiction.
If you read this chapter after chapter, helps creates all the hype and popularity this story gets with your disgust, then don't expect to be taken seriously if you have the gall to call the author, the story and the readers disgusting just because they disagree with your simplistic view of people who come from all forms of lives, experience and nationality converging to an already marginalized genre like Yaoi.
You need love in your life, you need find better form of validation if you really think that you are better than some another random in here just because they like a character like Seungho or they ship a fictional unrealistic couple like this.
I can't really phantom what goes on the head of someone who thinks this story is disgusting, think that the shippers or people who like this or that character is disgusting and still spend time of their day just to make a point to come here to say this, chapter after chapter after chapter... when it seems they could very well be enjoying something more pleasurable for them.
Imagine hanging a story you find disgusting just so you can feel pleasure by calling the readers 'gross'. I wish you freedom from this horrible disgusting story.
There must be a psychological reason for these kind of behavior.
I mean, it's easy to understand people following a story because they like it or there is something that it's pleasurable. This behavior of hating a story, hating the audience, hating the author and still tagging along when the only joy left is to try put down the people who are enjoying is not normal.
I suppose this also explain this recent surge of 'I dropped but I am still here' in the topics. You just know that they are following the story chapter after chapter and stalking the topic section waiting to jump on an comment that validates them.
Even if they really don't read the chapters when it's available ( yeah, right), they are reading by proxy.... commenting the same shit they did a dozen times. Only this time they think they can get away with 'I dropped this long time ago but...'.
Sure, dear. You dropped this like a obsessed stalker who keeps checking the ex insta and Facebook and keeps talking trash about her. But sure, you 'dropped it'. LOL
I'm really curious .... can really anyone who has at least a bit of average deduction intelligence, even if the excuse would be that they are completely new to Yaoi and its tropes ... can anyone with a straight face say that they thought POTN was supposed to be a social justice instead of what so clearly is? A rape plot trope Yaoi.
I mean, seriously. Which of the dozens of red flags, author aggressive selling of romantic art promoting the ship, all the clichés, etc, imagine getting to 76 chapters of POTN and then going ... oh, I wonder when the author will make this story a social construct of how real life relationships should be. Let me stick around some more because I still see in there somewhere ....
People, who the fuck do you think you are fooling? It's like watching porn and trying to convince other people that you are only watching it because of the acting is good and you are still waiting for the actual drama to start.
Give us a break, morality police of adult fiction. You look silly standing there with your megaphone preaching about the horrors of the story you can't give up.
ORRR people can actually criticize something and continue to read it even if they dislike it? Jesus, god forbid someone has a negative opinion. You're one of those people who go " Cartoons are FOR KIDS, it doesn't matter if its badly written" God forbid, some people have other expectations well within their rights considering the author clearly hinted it....
ORRR people can actually criticize a piece without criticizing the readers.
If you don't get the point that I am talking to shamers, you are either dishonest or not very bright.
Stop acting as people who post condescending, lectures on people who are enjoying the story or demanding explanations are giving 'criticism'
What shamers have in common: the immaturity to choose something that they know they can't like it and know that they will have an audience that will be cheering on something they don't like and they can't respect that. They need to put others down, usually and always with lecturing and arrogant posts shaming people.
I don't like incest stories. If I ever read an incest story just because it;s popular --- because that's why these shamers read POTN-- they know it's a rape plot story -- I would never write assholes posts asking the readers why they like or read or enjoy or ship or even more diss my own set of morality to put them down;
This is not criticism. This is a lack of respect, lack of maturity and shamers have to be talked back because they give a bad name to people who actually have mature opinions and criticism.
And if you are going to play dumb that you don't know which post or what a shamer is, please come back when you do.
Depends. Some people who are so called condescending actually still have point of criticism in their posts. No I feel questioning others' opinions is ok to do. It should definitely be done in a better way but I don't feel that questioning other's opinions is a no no. I mean you're making a lot of assumptions to what the "shamers" mean or intended. Also your original post asked how people could possibly expect anything different from this story BUT the thing is the author did hint at a turning point for it...such as Seungho's backstory or his change in behavior. Th author has been hinting at this since S1 and then turned back around and said SIKE, he gonna abuse him even more, so I could make this longer. I get maybe making a post about how shamers are bad and blah blah blah but it seems more like an attack on anybody who has a different expectation for the story. You never know....the author can do something different for it.
