Yep... not enough drama and the characters are a little square!!!!

Yeah if I'm paying to read something I don't want a time limit on how long I'm allowed to read it, that's annoying. If Renta had a monthly subscription fee I'd totally go for it though.

lezhin may be trash but they had a better system so i’ve paid for it in the past

Its obnoxious. In what world is fair to pay 10$ (5 chapters) for a 48h read?? And Im not even talking about the fact that its only a digital copy. Abusive. If it was a fair price I would spend my wallet there since they have a lot of great mangas while lezhin,tapas and tappytoon only have a few good yaois. Even if I have the money I just dont spend it when I feel Im being robbed.

Saw your comment on the front page. The site you are talking about seems a bit unfair considering the apparent time limit on when you can access the bought webtoon. I buy chapters from Lezhin, and also the EBook version of my favourite mangas, them just comment and discuss them on here. So knowing the price of these formats, where there aren't any restrictions on how long they are available to read, their way of selling does seem a bit greedy, and doesn't seem to be done with the intent of supporting the authors.

Actually it’s $1 for 48hr and $2 for unlimited(no time limit just like Lezhin) for all their regular releases. Also when there’s no option for a 48hr rental, it means it’s an unlimited release. Unlimited is pretty much forever unless the site shuts down which is the same case for Lezhin. Please don’t spread false information.

The only time you’d pay $2 for 48hr is for titles that are worth $3-4 unlimited but that’s only because they are longer releases(usually 50-70 pages).

They do have an unlimited option for their regular releases which is only $2(200 points) and you can rent them 48hr for $1. The OP posted wrong information and misled you. It’s pretty similar to Lezhin actually. Unlimited means there’s no time limit. They also have an app available both for iOS and Android devices. The site is also available internationally, they accept credit cards and PayPal.
I’m sorry if I sound like an informercial but I really dislike when people spread false information.

Please read my reply to this comment thread. This user spread false information regarding how Renta works and I clarified and even included examples. Renta is actually very similar to Lezhin. Their unlimited chapters are only $2 and you only pay once just like Lezhin and you can read them whenever you want. There’s no time limit. There’s only a time limit if you choose the 48hr rental which $1 not $2.

Thanks but I already knew all that information as I already have a Renta account and the app on my phone (it's super glitchy and slow though so I don't really use it).

Similar to Lezhin MY ASS in lezhin I pay less than 1$ for 3 coins that can unlock anything for ever while in renta I must pay 2$/4$/whatever for unlimited this is MORE THAN DOUBLE PRICE. So yeah RENTA is WAY more expensive. Btw tappytoon and tapas are even CHEAPER than lezhin so Im not even gonna compare it to renta.

Well the manga and webtoon formats are completely different. 2-3 webtoon chapters are pretty much about 1 manga chapter(give or take), so the prices make sense. I enjoy both formats so I support various artists. Besides I wasn’t comparing the prices between both platforms, I was talking about how the unlimited feature in Renta acts the same as if you were to buy a chapter from Lezhin. I was also correcting the prices you listed because you posted wrong information which could lead others away from supporting the mangaka. Whether you think it’s worth it that’s for you to decide.

I,too buy from Lezhin, Renta, TappyToon, Tapas and even support artists on Patreon. I actually find Tapas to have the best method for earning coins out of all of them especially since it allows others who can’t afford to buy coins a way to earn them and still support the artists. It’d also be nice to see more platforms implement a system similar to Patreon, where it’s a monthly payment/subscription . All these sites have their own pros and cons but I’m not going to delve into it.

Most of them are colored and have like 60 pages each chapter while mangas are black/white with 30 pages, get a clue I just read starry sky for 3 coins on lezhin chapter was super long there were 79 COLORED pages in one single chapter. You literally said “Renta is where you pay $2 for a 48hr read each ch”. You never clarified it’s only for certain series, which again is not even the majority of Renta’s releases. It was misleading and led others to believe that it applies to all their series and how the site worked. The replies you got from others prove my point.

The reason I said give or take is because I took colored webtoon chapters into consideration. Besides panels and “pages” are not the same thing. You need to educate yourself more on what goes into both webtoon and manga formats. Manga is not just “black and white pages”. There are a lot of panels, patterns, backgrounds, inking etc that go into making one single chapter. Artists of both formats work just as hard and I’m not undermining any of their work. I admit that probably should have found a better way to word my point. Also the reason mangas can be more expensive than webtoons is because webtoon companies like Lezhin and Tapas work directly with the artists. The artists are signed under their companies whereas sites like Renta and even English publishers like Sublime and June Manga have to pay a licensing fee to the Japanese publishing companies that the mangakas are under. Japanese companies are known for having expensive licensing fees which makes it harder and more expensive for English publishers. Hence why they may have to charge more to make back profit because at the end of the day they are businesses. A lot goes into determining how these series are priced.

Whether you choose to buy from Renta, that’s on you. Once again my main issue was that your comment was misleading and spreading false information since what you said doesn’t apply to each chapter like you said in your original comment.

At least with Lezhin if you catch the deals or special events you can practically get whole series for free too. I've just had a lot of issues with the Renta app and site as well that cause me to not want to use it if possible. I mean I can go on Amazon and buy manga through Kindle if I want but still the selection of English titles is limited.

I think the same. Personally I start out by giving all mangas 3 stars (unless it's a one-shot) and then I adjust the stars up and down depending on how it goes.

I meant, that I believe a lot of people give BL's 5 stars no matter what it is. When I start out reading a manga I give it 3 stars. Often you can't judge a manga by the first chapter. Then depending on if the following chapters are terrible or good I will remove or add stars.

Same lol. I don’t give 5 stars for everything. They all vary based on what I think. Like if a manga is so bad and boring, I give it one. If a manga was good for one chapter and not so interesting afterwards. It’s a 3. If in between, it’s a 2. It just varies based on your feelings and tastes and thoughts.

I dont know about other comments but in this one no1 is sayin shit about that rape, plot was cliche , both characters were shallow ( uke was whiny and seme was 100% psycho), in the end they just suddenly jump into bath tub out of nowhere like nothing LOL oh and lets not forget the victm blaming. Tbh, I didn’t like this manga either and only gave 3 stars. Idk why others gave it 5 stars. It was boring as hell and wasnt clear and has no development whatsoever. Was gonna give it a 2 but thought it deserved another star due to the author’s effort ╮(￣▽￣)╭ I stopped halfway tho so it probably got better? Idk. I just don’t wanna take any chances....
