hm, this chapter kinda feels like the teacher whom was most likely getting up there in age decided he wanted to create someone to be with his student to ensure he would be in good hands after he dies. now i think that coco/koko might be a more recently dead or someone on the brink of death that ran into the teacher and thus got turned into a homunculus. that or he is someone the teacher found thought would be a good match for his student but the guy has anmenisa, so the teacher put the homunculus mark on him to make his student think he was a homunculus and allow the man to recover and stay with his student.
but these are headcannons. this is cute as it is him feeling love yet can't say it.
