I somewhat agree, he wasn’t mentally stable at all due to his nurture and environment he was raised in. His mother also was like sexually assaulting him and his father was an abuser.

I literally grew up in a neglectful and abusive family i know what trauma is because i experience it i still to this day fear that my own brother might actually genuinely kill me, but even after everything I’ve gone through i certainly didn’t turn into a fucking serial killer, i sympathise with sangwoo and even relate to him at sone points in the story because it reminds me of myself but i will never ever justify his actions it does not matter how traumatised he is what he did he did knowingly and intentionally he is a murderer, genuinely imagine u get killed by someone crazy person but people defend them saying they aren’t responsible for your death because they were abused as a child.
