a younger person falling in love with an older person/guardian figure (not related by blood) ≠ grooming
-
an adult/guardian prepping the younger person for sexual/romantic relations by the time they reach age of consent = grooming
-
a younger person liking an adult ≠ pedophilia
-
an adult like a child = pedophilia
-
-
in taehyuk's case neither grooming nor pedophilia apply to his situation since he was not preying on child hyo-un nor had any sexual/romantic attraction to him... and in this case he feels weird that:
1. they are both men
2. he raised hyo-un (rightfully so)
but to apply either of those terms would just be factually incorrect because its just not true...
-
-now it is upsetting that the author took this route of the new dragon (hyo-un) landing sight on a child and assuming the form of a child, when we the readers know that taehyuk raises him from child to adult....bringing any children into sexual stories always feel wrong, unless theyre kids/siblings of the main cast...but its not fair to label taehyuk as a pedo/groomer
Exactly! I can't really fault these character's actions and backstory since they're, yknow, characters?? The morals and themes of a story can *typically* be a lense into how the author views these topics.
I'm continuing to read this story most because
1. I'm at least assured they won't show actual pedophilia with a child and instead with an obviously adult-looking man, even with the circumstances.
2. I'm just so curious of how the author is trying to play this out. Their next move, you can say
Like, this sudden backstory took such a turn?? And every time I think oh this isn't right the author then agrees with me on that statement even though it also contradicts the entire premise of their blackstory??
And I like Taehyuk as a character/protagonist, definitely. He's shown great character growth and compassion his original self also is wonderful. But this entire plot seems to fight with who he is as a character and I'm morbidly curious how the it's gonna try to fit him into it and still feel like a good ending.
right like...taehyuk definitely needs to stand on business and set stricter boundaries,,,,but how tf would he do that wit a non human being that the "raised" for 10 that magically turned into a grown man right before his eyes....theres no way he could realistically accept whats going on (speaking from a sense of fictionality and not literally)
