It's understandable that Mayumi would want to "get away from it all" after her fiance gets her best friend (Touko) pregnant. The story seems promising ~looking forward for more. Rin may become the someone Mayumi will be able to draw strength from and become the person she wants to be.
Based on the opera "Carmen". The manga actually is very close to the story - except in yaoi... and although I don't like both Carmens in the manga and the play, I think I hated the one from the play more, LOL.
That scene hit me with the feels... Juda being a dad. Like a lot of fathers IRL, he isn't that expressive and usually leaves things to the mom (here its Daath who fulfills that role). Seeing juda colding his kids teaching them a valuable lesson... yup he's a father (not just Daath's bond).

I first thought this chapter with the notebook was going to be so similar to Death Note. However, as the case progresses, there are notable differences ~ when a person's name is written, how they die doesn't seem to be written.
The other plots/subplots, like the girl who OBE, the little inspector (Furano).... how will they become involved? Will it be just this case or other future cases? And the other members of the detective club.... I hope it isn't just going to be another one of those harem ~ although Yajima Ginnan's ability is interestingly cool.
The story looks interesting. I haven't run across stories that deal with themes such as this. Alzheimer not only affects the patient, but those around them. Hardest hit are the ones who are dear to them.
Hopefully the series has continued and the translator keeps up the hardwork!
