No, seriously, often all the Tops are so cardbord-like that the fact that the author gave him an olfactory perception of the object of affection and arousal from the smell of a loved one is just fucking awesome. This story has a well-developed psychology and characters in principle, but this detail is just the cherry on top.

If anyone wants spoilers, I read a short summary of the plot of the novel and the spinoff (it gives a view of the events from Esper's side),

....and we have a classic story here, where Seme was rejected by his family in every possible way and did not learn to express love through care adequately, so he expresses it in a completely fucked up way.
And Uke accidentally showed kindness to him a couple of times before, which greatly turned Seme's world upside down, and he decided that only Uke understands him in this world, and in general they were made for each other.
Well, judging by what I read - it won't get better, the author doesn't give a damn about logic and psychology, coercion - so coercion.
Also
It seems like Seme set up this whole story with drunk sex. And as for me, getting someone drunk and fuck them is rape.

Yeah sadly this isn’t too shocking. :( this story really gave off the vibe that his obsession is just a plot device for sex rather than being something that’ll actually be explored. Like I understand it being a plot device for spicy stuff but I think you need the depth and nuance too to make it work yk?
Thanks for the spoilers
Wow, how ambiguous, my friend.
