I'm looking for the name of a story I read on Mankato a few years back. It's about two girls who are best friends, and whenever the popular, extrovert friend makes a boyfriend, it's on the condition that he'll also date her more introverted friend (as in, not exclude her, treat her well and have her join on dates). Usually that never goes well, and then she starts dating a guy that takes this condition seriously. But he has a women hating best friend that finds this arrangement ridiculous and starts bothering the other girl.

I've read this ages ago, and now I can't remember the name. I think it was a cultivation world story, the main character was living a rather poor and undervalued life. Then one day a big family clan send out the news that they are recalling the younger generation that the sent out to build forces and connections to fight for inheritance. They find their bloodline family members by sending some trained bird to spot them and two special guards that are tasked to protect and evaluate them before they return home to the clan. I remember the main character plucking one of the birds feathers and making a horrible first impression overall.
