So after reading to ch27 I went looking for spoilers, found the whole novel (a pdf in Spanish, it was a pain trying to get the whole file converted so I could Google translate it).
The Prince is basically the final boss. I was honestly shocked at how easily everything else was solved tbh. And vol 8 of the novel (final volume) made me dislike the ML a little bit.
Ok... No one attack me but... This reads so much like a shoujo manga, it has all the parts of shoujo that made me back away from the genre because I definitely didn't fit into the age group it was meant for.
We have the damsel in distress protagonist with a death wish who's always getting saved, with lots of dramatic monologue and inner dialogue, ready to jump into danger and put his life on the line to save the ML when he's weak AF and really only gets in the way.
Also, this manga is so wordy, I've found myself skipping over dialogue to get it over with. I'm only on ch12.
Only read the last 2 chapters because I don't want to read about the seme being an ass or get second lead syndrome over the best friend. At least he apologizes for his bad behavior, I swear the bar is set so low in bl that an apology automatically makes him better than 80% of ML tops in bl (the remaining 20% being the ones that don't make a mistake in the first place.)
So, I read backwards and just didn't read ch1 at all. I was worried it would be a burning pile of garbage, but considering the stories that come in this genre, it's just slightly better than trash? As someone who's read incest stories, I'd prefer him ending up with the brother, too. At least in fiction, it's better than ending up with your rapist. But there's so much drama and trauma in this one smh, even though the seme at least had some motivation to attack the uke than just wanting to force his own desires on someone else, he totally misplaced his anger for good step father to a total stranger with no context.
Okay, so years after I first read this, I read it again and I still feel salty about Siwon's ending and Johoon barely getting any payback, so... Hear me out. Johoon gets busted for drugs or something and goes to prison (drug laws are crazy in South Korea, he'd be there for a while) and Siwon takes over Jiwook's body after whatever Johoon does to him breaks him, because if there was a twin that deserved to die, it was him ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
I don't know why people keep talking about Ijin resting, he's literally a top dog ex mercenary, of course he's going to get into a lot of messes. He probably does rest a lot in between plots, but the author only lets us see the action (most of the time, with some normal high school time sprinkled in.). Like, I don't think he's literally jumping from one baddie to the other the next day. There's probably days or even weeks in between, but this is an action manhwa, not slice of life.
ik if they see ijin resting when the title is mercenary then they would nagged abt how boring it was
