also just a small rant, i really hate people who say this story isnt progressing and such when the mangaka is clearly trying to set up future conflicts and develop all of the mcs relatiships
exactly! i've seen so many comments like that, especially about the most recent war flashback chapters, and it pisses me off. those chapters are so important to the story! they add depth, build the world, and show us why loid is doing all of this. they help us understand the war and the underlying conflicts driving the plot. without them, the story wouldn't have the same impact.
Yeah, I can tell that this story will be a long one and we're in the set up phase. You just know that will hit the fan in the future. The set up of Anya's childhood, family, and friendships will be important for the second half of the story.
why is no one talking about the psychological(possibly physical??) abuse melinda is going through?? honestly its so sad and so horrifying, i know there was clear images of her being anxious but hearing her say shes scared of her husband is so gut wrenching

i think why it's rated so high is more on the refreshing plot, i dont think ive seen a first meeting like this story. also they cant be together under alot of circumstances and the present is focusing on the ml searching for a person from his past which is mc (also this isnt really a spoiler as it's already in the early chapters) and it's slowburn which is extra chef's kiss bcs their emotions are so clear and melancholic i even cried on some parts
I thinks of many stories 'tell' us that two characters feel for one another. Even if the plot, character's actions and setting would imply the complete opposite. So we as readers feel exasperated or disconnected from the story.
This story is different. It shows us. We see two people who are sincerely in love, and there's an actual legitimate challenge that's we as readers can see and understand that is acting as the tension within the plot. We're rooting for the characters to be together, and that's what makes a good love story.
THIS !! the author didn't try to shove us the narrative and expect us to accept and try to understand the characters. The emotions just feels so natural and humane you just cant help but be in awe with the manhwa. the best things is even without long dialogues explaining their feelings, even with just a scene with no dialogue it's more powerful than any words can tell
Also the art really portrays the emotions of the characters so well, the facial expressions might be one of my favourite things about this
THIS +1 coming from someone who read the novel, this is one of the best bl when it comes to character writing...it not that they are "deep" and complicated the author doesn't dumb all info on you rather they slowly reveal the personality through behaviours and memories
Don't forget the hands too. When ml smooths out a hair from mc's face I could cry it is drawn so well.
