Okay, so bear with me. We can honestly agree on the fact that there is something genuinely wrong with Jaekyung’s personality. And I don’t mean in the sense that he’s aggressive and extremely disagreeable, but yes that as well.

I mean in the most tragic and miserable way, Jakeyung is not a happy guy, at all. He doesn’t trust ANYONE. Not even Dan, who is the most gullible and trustworthy guy. When anyone tries brightening up his god damn pathetic mood, he stares daggers at them and tells them to get out of his sight. He doesn’t give anyone a chance, he would rather just be pissy and mad at everything.

What I found very interesting this chapter is that when Dan asked if Jaekyung trusted him, he looked extremely surprised and stressed. I’m almost 100 % sure he has been traumatised in a horrible way. Most likely abused verbally, physically or sexually. He needs to have sex with someone to win a boxing match? Sounds like he’s just going through the motions of past abuse if you ask me. He takes everything out on Dan, the one guy that does not cave into his appalling temper. The one guy that lets him do almost whatever he wants with him. I’m pretty sure we’ll get Jakeyung’s backstory soon, and I do think his past self was very much trusting of others, and someone used him for that.

Dan is on the opposite spectrum. By that I mean he has not let himself become resentful and bitter, even though his life has been throwing some pretty tragic stuff at him lately. He was fired from his job, even though he was being sexually harrassed by a doctor there. He owns money to the mafia because he can’t pay the bills for his sick grandmother. And now a brat like Jaekyung decides wow, this guy is my new jinx, let me just fuck his ass up and then tell him to fuck off afterwards. And now Dan is falling for him () even though Jaekyung is not worthy of his love.

What I’m saying is that Dan has not let himself be the victim, or become bitter and resentful because of his past, unlike someone else. He’s still a good guy, and he definitely deserves something better. But I do believe Jaekyung will come around when he decides whatever traumatic shit has happened to him does not mean he can act however he likes. He really needs a wakeup call. Dan, don’t let him walk all over you like this, put him on a leash or something.
