Rereading this I noticed some things that bothered me. About Yuki who crossdresses, it's not like him being a guy helps much with the jealousy, especially since Kazu already said he doesn't care about gender, so it just didn't make sense. It doesn't seem like the MC really likes Kazu, but rather that he got used to having him by his side and simply because of ego didn't want to lose him to someone else, but maybe that's just my impression.
I mean Kazu literally got what he wanted, he did say he wasn't going to give up until Yuki liked him back, imo the only attractive quality that Kazu did have was his persistence because if someone confessed to me and then followed me around after I rejected them? baby that's a police report right there. But it's the fact that he grows on Yuki and all the things that he found annoying or irritating were suddenly what he missed most about Kazu, and he was thinking of him the entire summer break even before he saw him and his fake gf. The jealousy was truly just a plot device.
