I know it’s supposed to be a bitter sweet ending because even though he’s dead he lives on through the AI replica but for me it just enhances the darkness of the story since now the guy has to gaslight himself into believing that the cube contains rukiya’s soul even though he knows it’s not true. Just because it turns out rukiya is actually dead doesn’t change anything about the cube. It’s still just an ai mimicking him.
Something about their relationship just feels a little bit wrong. Like don’t get me wrong, I think there was some communication in the end, but I don’t think it was enough. It still feels like they’re living with a stranger they met like two weeks ago, as opposed to a partner they lived with for three years. Like they do all the super basic things couples do, they eat together, sleep together, and are physically intimate, but it doesn’t feel like they have any unique hobbies they share or like to talk about with each other. Maybe that’s it - they don’t look like they have fun talking to each other. They look like talking to each other is a chore. Maybe this is pure personal preference, but I can’t imagine a relationship where there is no mutual yapping about personal interests or stupid things.
don’t they both love movies though? i think the ending was beautiful as it was very realistic (you can’t just change overnight after all)! perhaps they’re a bit of a “bad” fit together because they struggle with the exact same issues personality-wise… still i think it’s beautiful how despite their shortcomings they’re still willing to keep working on their relationship!
Ah no I agree! I thought the relationship issues and overcoming them was portrayed very well! I actually thought the way the break up was written was incredibly realistic and impressively done.
My issue came more from the ideas of what being close to someone usually looks like. They’ve been together for three years, but the way they talk to each other, even when they’re on good terms, feels like how someone might talk to a coworker or an acquaintance. I think maybe the manga deserved some scenes of how they were in the past, how they got along well in the beginning and why they love each other despite the lack of communication. To me, I feel like the lack of depth, nuance, to their relationship was not intentional by the author, even though the awkwardness was done on purpose.
That’s not to say relationships like this don’t exist in real life, though. I guess my question is, is it always worth your time to maintain a relationship with someone? Even if you’re not very compatible?
And hey, at the very least this manga has me thinking deeper about relationships. Which is an impressive feat in itself!
Bro. His shirt is actually driving me crazy. It is an English shirt written backwards that if u read backwards say:
Actions s
peak l
ouder th
an
words
I am trying so desperately to figure out wtf this shirt is supposed to mean, and I just don’t know. Why is it split up like that? Why is it written backwards? I checked if the entire comic was just flipped so the words looked backwards, but all the Korean sound effects are normal. So the author purposely put him in a shirt that is written backwards. Adding on that the spacing is bad that half the words are cut in the middle, I think this might be the most stupid shirt I’ve ever seen, and the main character is wearing it and nobody cares. Somebody make this shirt and sell it to me, it’s a work of art.
If it’s written so I won’t pay attention to it, clearly that didn’t work very well lmaooo
The raws are also spaced up that way in and in English, so either the author didn’t know, or didn’t think readers would care. It’s just funny that instead of just putting random letters, she put a common phrase as if people would read it, and then made it completely illegible
Wait really? What’s the style called do u know? I’m like genuinely curious. Now that I’m thinking about it, it’s very possible it’s meant to be some kind of statement since it butchers the words on how words are less meaningful than actions. If this was intentional on the authors part that’s actually really interesting
If I'm not mistaken , it's a mirror writing design. The words being butchered , I'm so sure about that but I've seen it on tiktok. I don't think its intentional but who knows. Some translations also might mess up the design of how the author intended to make the shirt. I'd say wait for the officials if there is any to confirm your theory. Good luckies on it!

Yayyy wait I’m glad that the misunderstanding came out early lol
