You do realize that abuse and trauma can affect anybody at whatever mental age they are at? Do you realize that these kids were abandoned by an emperor who did not care about their situation? He knew their mother would harbor hostile and negative feelings, but did not check on his own children. The princes knew they had smaller siblings but never cared. They have the ability to act like children, so why not use it? Why should they put up with a neglectful family who thinks a few favors can make up for years of abuse?
