i dont really think that there's a thing like some "girly uke" tbh

If such terms are reflective of current Japanese culture, and not just used for fictional manga tropes than that seems pretty sad. It's although people who identify as gay can't just be treated as normal, boring people and have to conform to these regressive stereotypes. The idea that a man must appear vulnerable, feminine, short etc just because of how he likes sex is quite odd, and reminds me a little of the early 20th century stereotypes where gay men were portrayed as "camp" or gay women were viewed as masculine on things like tv and films, you would have expected the world to have moved on from that.

ah, don't leave out how i said "varying degrees". some minimal (to the point of bullshit LOL) and some had a good portrayal. and there's one true to life BL manga too.
but majorly, BL came from the perspective of women and it is tailored for women readership. but it still reflects the way they generally view things. other countries may view japan or east asia as "regressive" since it doesn't conform to their own but it's still basically just a difference of culture/way of thinking. i've talked to a lot of readers (especially caucasian ones) and they say the same thing as you.
also, i've read plenty of manga and im not really choosy what i pick to read and girly uke is not as common as you guys think.

like koreaboo weaboo emo, fandom things, fujoshi, mybe even being gay but your not?? i guess im now in my fujoshi phase but im not reading yaoi all day i just read it sometimes but i consider myself as a "fujoshi" since i started reading yaoi..

1-9 yo: playing with cars
9-12 yo:little princess(well my parents spoiled me)
12-13: emo but not emo? well i was always wearing black clothes and my fav band was evanescence
13-15:a nerd (but i had friends so im not complaining)
15-16:depression(dont ask why, its called "teen years")
16:i dated a guy and after we broke up i dated a girl(u can call it identity crisis i guess)
16-17:popular kid, many friends, phase:i wanna date as many guys as i can(yes i actually said that)
18:i dont give a fk,in a serious relationship,studying
19:still in a serious relationship, dont give a fk,fujoshi, studying(well :'))cand "what the fk i was thinking all these years"

so this one time i was just walking with my friends and we saw just two guys being like real close to eachother and kinda touchy// it looked they were in like a uhhhh relationship i guess but i didnt mind so one of my friends who is OFC a fujoshi said :"Wow thats like so yaoi irl i wonder how it looks when they fuck eachother and i wonder who's the seme and the uke". LIKE ALL OF MY FRIENDS THOUGHT OF THE SAME THING AND I WAS LIKE: "wtf not every boy who is like really friendly and touchy are not in some kind of twisted gay relationship like you see in the yaois or shounen ais you read" i didnt say that to them but i was thinking this/// its like guys cant be friends anymore just like girls are without thinking about yaoi or yuri and it kinda pissed me off. not everything is gay now

Its not like theyre assuming tgat the boys were a couple, theyre just fantasizing, whats so wrong with that, its not hurting anybody

It's kinda...ew. I mean imagine you're just chilling w your pal, being friendly and this random chick is like "oooh I wonder how they fuck eachother!!" It's just wierd and not even their business

Its icky to me, i mean its one thing to do this with characters from some story but its anonther with real ppl, it just seems creepy to me. Even if they were a gay couple its still strange to think abt them fucking and to talk abt their sexual postions like chill lool.

shipping real ppl can be annoying and it can destroy the relationship between those two. It happend to me a lot// i was close to this guy friend of mine and everyone in class started rumors sying we were dating and kissing etc i didnt really like it so i cried a lot and the guy friend of mine tried to calm me down and again everyone still shipping its annoying with ppl irl but not relly with just fictional characters

I hate that. Homosexual relationships arent there to entertain people. gays dont exist so girls have something to squeal over. when an ugly person in your vicinity comes out, its "eeew". same with lesbians. you cant date without men asking them to kiss in frnt of them or is they hate men.
its okay to assume somebody might be gay, but treat them with dignity. these arent some figures in a manga. they might hear you and feel uncomfortable.
thanx

Bruh, I have some acquaintances who are kinda the same way except, they never read/watched yaoi or any type of gay porn in their lives, and they annoy the heck out of me. I also don't get the point of shipping real people, It's extremely rare for me to ship at all, and if I do it's only fictional nonexistent people.

Because that is where you should learn to draw the line.they are not for fantasizing .they are not some blingy people with drawing and sketching that came out of the manga.they are people with skin and bones with brain and heart and emotions and feeling .they don't deserve to get fantasized .as a human you should have that understanding towards other people.

It's sad people have to go through with it . If as a person to person we take responsibilty for what should be done as human and what is right or wrong .if we understand tht a person can be hurt through our action ,so we need to watch out what we say .world would be a better place.understanding towards other and their thinking and mindset is really important but hatred is not ,atleast not when a person is getting objectified. I don't think i make any sense but this is how i feel Σ( ̄□ ̄||)

i assume that most of you are fujoshi's but why is it like that every girl here likes yaoi and BL and nothing else? i mean there are other good manga or manhwa webtoons etc not saying that you should stop liking BL or that stuff// but not all stories need to have yaoi to make it good

Though to be honest I've never met a fujoshi that reads ONLY yaoi manga.. But who knows they might exist, it's a big world out there.

I read shouen on another website, which primarly promotes eechi and non-bl stuff, which I hate. This is the ONLY website that i found promotes bl stuff, which is why I loved it. I was a hardcore shoujo reader back then (never again am i going there, it was repulsive now I look back on it) after reading so much yaoi, I just hate hetero stuff. Like there is too much hetero stuff in this world, the media, the ads, the tv dramas, the news, all the homphobic comments on YouTube also piss me off. I get sick of it and annoyed and the really sad thing is most gay men and women feel the same. So i kinda let go off anything hetero, I'm a hardcore fujoshi that loves the bond between two males and ships every boy in this world with another boy and every girl in this world with another girl.
But I do read haikyuu, ajin(plot is amaaaaazing) but whenver there is subtle hetero stuff in anything, I kinda have to skip through it. I honestly don't regret growing up like this with this mentality over the last few years (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ it makes me happy. Plus yaoi stories are the BOOOMB. No matter how cliche it is, it still surprises me and trust me I read a lot of yaoi

Like I watched the anime 91 days (reallllllly wanted it to be bl but it got bl vibes to it) but it was the first anime to just be about the main two male characters. The chemistry was fucking amazing that I just want t cry. But still even without romance, it was one of the greatest anime cause the plot,, my gwad.
Most of the time, anime always got a side character whose a girl and even though she doesn't do much. She somehow ends up with a main character cause all they have to do is have some banter here and there and boooom, chemistry is appeared? . Like naruto for example, Naruto did so much for Sasuke, heck the whole anime was about it and the chemistry was off the charts but still, he ended up with a girl when they only interacted for a bit? She was busy hiding the whole anime until the very last moment. I feel like they got together just cause fans shipped them and that that. I would have loved Naruto if there wasn't romance in there. Plot is freaking amazing and honestly if you can give me a webtoon with pure plot and no hetero at all. I would read it e.g ajin, haikyuu.
It cause of this heternomative society that everything has to be like this. Its like bromance can exist, but anything beyond that is forbidden, even if they happen to have the most amazing chemistry. The same with girls love. This is why I mostly read yaoi than any other genre. I feel like the plot is amazing, the characters are strong and independent, each fulfilling their role, the chemistry amazing, the atmosphere, the tension, the progression. I feel like everything is being fulfilled and you even get sex in yaoi as a reward.
All the anime I watch, the boys always do everything for each other (male x male bond is very different (which is why I love it) to female x male bond or female x female bond) and then somehow at the very end it turns into a sappy romance story.
E.g 91 days had no bl stuff (maybe vibes, if you check out its song opening by the original author, he shows some gl and bl on his MV (๑•ㅂ•)و✧) but no bl or romance, and it still ended perfectly.
Whereas terror no resonance had an amazing plot, where the boys did everything for each other but apparently there had to be a girl in there so that we can add the romance tag even tho she literally did nothing. I swear to god, she did nothing. But still instead of adding filer romance ep to the plot. Why not just let it go and make it pure plot.
I know my points are all messed up and not really clear, so I can't really put it across, I apologies . but this is how I really feel.

Yeah I know they do, I just said that the website promotes eechi and non-bl stuff. So I always come to this website to read yaoi, hence you don't have a lot of fujoshi that come to this website reading other genres, cause they are mostly here for yaoi.

idk i just got tired of reading manga where they treat women really badly (or sexualize under aged girls) You know what I mean, endless fan service and just pushing the cliche that women are weak and men are unga bunga strong
i know you can also find that in yaoi (ALOT) but i can argue with you that in comparison it is WAY LESS ...
as for me...im die hard into one piece so i guess it differs for each person lmao

Its all about preferences. There aree people who only like ecchi stories, others that only prefer shonen manga and a long etc...
But i can assure you there is not one person that only read BL/yaoi. The fact that we love yaoi doesnt mean we cant like anything else (As if we are gonna lose the opportunitty to ship b/b in other mangas just because they are not yaoi.Ha!) Jk. (?)
But now from my experience, I think that what non bl/yaoi readers doesnt understand is yaoi its not only a genre where boys fuck and thats it, yaoi it's a very rich world where you can find whatever you want, from mistery ,romance, drama, action, sports...
I've been a manga reader since my 6 and im on my 20s, I started reading yaoi at 19's and Ive never thought before that yaoi could be so wide and complex universe and I love it.
We DO read a lot of genres, not only yaoi but we LOVE yaoi the most. Deal with it ┑( ̄v ̄)┍

Well that's like saying to the person who read only not BL horror manga ( as an example) and they hate BL and GL . "But why won't you read yuri and Yaoi, there are so many good manga of that genres. Why are you fixed to only one genre"
Shut up, and let people read and love what they want, and you read whatever you want

^ 1000000%

Btw, mangago its a website that promotes yaoi/yuri the most (because they do offer more genres) unlike other sites that prefer to promote more popular mangas, like boruto, one piece and the ones likes.
Asking here, were it's like a yaoi paradise why we "only"read yaoi it's like to ask in a coffee shop why people "only drink coffee.
┑( ̄3 ̄)┍

DUDE SAME, i started read manga since i was 10, only started reading yaoi when I was 17, I'm 19 now and the world is so goddamn vast in yaoi, freaking love it (i've read a lot btw). I never knew it will be like this as a non-bl reader before. It makes me so happy!!!!!
AND yes, just watch the anime hunter x hunter. There is no romance, and there is bl vibes (bordering on shouen ai) and honestly you cant help shipping the boys together (gon x killua) (illumi x killua) (gon x hisoka (my fave)), cause chemistry is off the charts. Plus the plot is amazing, the mangaka is a genius.
Same with gintama, you cant help ship the b x b (gintoki x hijikata (๑•ㅂ•)و✧) Male bonding and relationships are just amazing, I wish I was a boy. ╥﹏╥
BUT ABOVE ALL, YAOI IS LIFE. I can't help prefer it over everything.

I feel like I enjoy yaoi and shoujo mangas equally, but yaoi is what I end up reading the most honestly because it's not as complicated. Many shoujo mangas I've read are just very long winded; I already know that the two MCs will end up together, it's a shoujo manga after all, but I have to go through 100+ chapters of misunderstandings, unnecessary rivals, new love interests, and just waiting and waiting for them to finally get together at the very end. So basically I just read yaoi because I'm impatient and yaoi tends to be shorter haha ( ̄∇ ̄")

Ehhh just depends on the person. I now read about 98% BL, but it wasn’t always that way.
I first ONLY read shoujo. Then I started a mixture of shoujo and josei. I actually started reading BL by accident... skipped straight passed shounen ai into hardcore yaoi. Was completely UNINTENTIONAL but now it’s an addiction...
I’ve never been into shounen, and now shoujo stories are never complex enough and seem childish. A full blown yaoi addict now ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Ah life and where it takes you

you do realize there are tons of shounen manga etc. on here right? another good/okay website is http://www.mangahere.cc/ for shounen

Duddeee lmao, there are too many, hahahahha. Mangahere, kissmanga, manga fox
im sorry but why the fuck is everyone forgetti g that alex LITERALLY RAPED dg??? why is no one talking about that wtff
To be honest I don't remember seeing that part. I would never support such actions.
was it that one scene where jiwon got drunk
there still gonna be happy in the end if you can't over that scene then quit reading
pee
obviously if this was rl it would be a no no but its completely fiction and the author can choose that alex will be completely cured from that era.
If it's rape for DG, he wouldn't be able to let it go, right after Jiwon agreed to have a date with him you see that he returned to being his bubky self. If that's what the MC thinks then who are we as readers to say and insist that it's rape? As long as the MC didn't think of it and actually enjoyed it and used it as a way to get what he wants, it won't be rape.
I think the issue in this manhwa is how he treated DG badly all the time they were together just because he has a trauma when it comes to being in a relationship.
"As long as the MC didn't think of it and actually enjoyed it and used it as a way to get what he wants, it won't be rape."
That's not how rape works, dear. At least acknowledge it's rape in the story's universe and move on. There's nothing wrong with appreciating work with rape in it. It's when you sugarcoat it that it becomes problematic.
The story was not great, the art average, the plot overused. I dropped this story way before the rape scene I suppose. But if there really was rape, it just shows how I was right not to waste my time on this. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
