Any recommendations for jealousy done in a cute/healthy way in BL? I feel like way too often, authors write jealousy that ends in the top raping the bottom (cough Jinx cough Mr. 100% Perfect etc etc). I just want to see the top (or bottom) get jealous and they resolve it in cuddles and consensual fucking ┗( T﹏T )┛

Are Painter of the Night and Pearl Boy worth reading? I know they’re two of the big famous BLs but I heard there’s a lot of rape and SA in them. Are the endings satisfying? Is there enough groveling? They both have 100+ chapters so I don’t want to start if they’re not going to be good despite the hype and fame (I spent time reading Love is an Illusion bc it was famous and thought it was meh at best)

    PB is just repetitive rape with good art. It’s why people (somehow ) ignore it. I never made it that far, I dropped it first rape scene.. (the beginning.)

    POTN, again, people dgaf as long as it has good art. I personally didn’t see what the hype was about especially with all the SA.

    These 2 are highly uncomfortable, you genuinely start to think if the artist has some rape fetish. Not worth it. Not worth 1 penny.

    I have not read painter of the night but I can tell you about pearl boy. To answer a few of your questions, no in my opinion pearl boy doesn’t not have a satisfactory ending, but there wasn’t a really good way to end it. Pearl boy has a lot of rape and SA and the groveling is there but def isn’t enough. In my opinion it was somewhat interesting but the only reason I stayed reading was to see the ending. Knowing that, the knack decision is up to you weather or not you read it. Hope this helps <3

    Painter of the Night I would say is worth reading but I am not sure about Pearl Boy. I started reading it two weeks ago and I am almost done with it. I honestly didn't expect all the dark plot in it so I wouldn't get into it if those types of things trigger you.

    Pearl Boy was pain after pain after pain after pain and the ending was def not satisfying enough to compensate for all the pain

    Meanwhile, i'd say Painter of the Night is a little better on that respect, a little less pain and infinitely more satisfying end

    BUT if im right i think you'd like Taming the Tiger and To Take an Enemy's Heart (and others by those authors)

    I never finished Pearl Boy because of the excessive rape and I thought the season 1 art was ugly tbh. The art does look like it got better over time and I do know a lot of people love the ML.

    POTN I did read all the way. It's an ok read. Pretty art. Not enough plot for my tastes. Seungho didn't really "grovel", but by the end, I was ok with Seungho and Nakyum being together.

    Neither manhwa are must reads. If you're into toxic smut, go for it. Otherwise, you aren't missing much if you skip on these two.

I haven’t read a lot of the most popular BLs on this site because I heard a lot of them have rape. Are any of them without rape and worth reading? I know I will probably never read Yours to Claim, My Suha, and Love or Hate because those use rape as plot devices and buy into the falling in love with your rapist trope. Please help

Okay I can’t remember if this was a BL I read here or if it was a novel/fanfic I read or maybe straight romance or maybe even just a fever dream?? Lol. Basically I remember MC had to do a contract marriage with ML. ML already had a partner though and wasn’t interested in MC. MC does their best to seduce ML but end up being really sad even though they knew ML already had a partner. ML starts pitying MC and ends up trying to be a better husband to MC. Then ML ends up falling in love with MC and ends things with their former partner saying they need to commit to MC since they’re married. Partner is pissed. Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Am I hallucinating
