There's an issue here where the previous scan team was "working on" it for over a year without uploading, and then another translator came along and translated 2 chapters before the previous scan team told them to stop, thus entering this manhwa's status as forgotten once again.
I hope the original scan team stops policing translators because they aren't translating shit and have no right to stop others from doing it too.
I agree. I'm thankful for the og scanlating team bc they're simultaneously translating a lot of manhwas/mangas (kinda slowly too might I add so that already says something about why the update for this work were taking so long) but this one i really don't understand. They've stopped scanlating it for more than a year when the story has already been completed at the time (I think) w up to 20+ chapters and the raws have been so so easily accessible... I understand being overbooked w stories to translate and I respect their work but to me it seems like this case is very poorly handled. They've only translated 2 chapters and dropped it for 1+ year without any notice while continuing to scanlate other works which is already pretty unprofessional, but then they start gatekeeping it (god knows why) when other scanlators are available to provide it faster. This makes no sense. I really want an explanation at least because this is getting ridiculous.
And don't get me wrong I know that one rule in scanlating that says if a team is already scanlating a work others shouldn't pick it up but in this case it really doesn't make sense since it's been dropped for so long despite the raws being accessible and people patiently waiting. At this point you've gotta admit defeat and give up the translation to someone else... Otherwise it's just obnoxious.
I have no idea why this is some unspoken rule.
As someone who translated a comic for a period of time and having it sniped after I stopped for bit, it's completely fine.
my goal as a translator/scanlator is to get the translation for the project out for others to read. If someone else is basically going to help me do that, they're free to snipe a project when it's not being uploaded.
why scanlation groups forbid others from translating is beyond me, there is really no downside other than one side may feel like they're wasting their time.
anyone under 18 should not be dating anyone over 20. this is not a matter of cultural difference or behavior. anyone under 18 years old is still fairly naive compared to anyone over 20. teenagers are hormonal and likely to make shitty decisions and be easily coerced.
remember that pedos range from liking pre-pubescent bodies to liking the innocence and naivety of said age group. common grooming tactics include saying "you're mature for your age" as they attempt to justify themselves. a 20 y/o man after a 16 y/o is NOT okay.
pedophilia is something very prevalent in Eastern media and there has been a slow movement to removing pedophilia as many are finding it not okay. please don't act like because the country is okay with it, considering many people from the original country find it disgusting. if the US is a testament to anything, countries can absolutely be run by pedophiles.
anyway, as long as you can keep this in mind then go ahead and read. it's important to be mindful of what we read. you can enjoy the story while knowing what's wrong and what's right.
