You know what’s funny I can’t even blame this attempt at a AI manhwa it’s more or less distilled every current BL manhwa to its basic tropes and has just shown a mirror to what a majority of them are in fact like without context. Says more about the genre than the actual garbage that is this abomination.

I don’t know if it’s specifically the side stories just being ROUGH in drawing style or I misremembered through my nostalgia lenses because while the plot was truly absolutely amazing, the art style 7 years later is…

This is wild the comments celebrating the “funny” rapist finding love. Just fucking yikes.

So how’s MC paying for movie tickets without his wallet still in this economy? And when will ML give it back? I’m still beside myself over this!

I’m confused what makes the ML special didn’t he literally cheat during his and MC’s first duel by using a “command” why does he get a pass but the 2nd ML isn’t allowed the same leniency? Plus as a 1st year he wasn’t even allowed in the 2nd year arena as well so why is all this world building established rules shown to the audience then thrown out moments later of MC and ML meeting for the 1st time.

I’m confused why the comment section says this is great. The seme is a piece of shit and the uke is straight up delusional and pathetic. If my ex ever did this to me and I welcomed them back with my asshole open and ready just shoot me dead. Yikes.

You assaulted him multiple times and the moment your “CRUSH” no your VICTIM gives you a much deserved vocal reprimand at bare minimum, you cry. And the author thinks this shit is cute? Fuck this.

Eh

Your standard debt = sex somehow BL plot. Plus the top is your cliche asshole fuckboy changed by the blushing innocent bottom who’s somehow special just because trope. Been done countless of times and is certainly in double digits of options.

The art is beautiful but the top is genuinely such an asshole, like pos to the nth degree asshole fuckboy. Are we actually suppose to like him? Let alone the idiot mc who’s whole personality is he’s a romantic and falls in love with just about anyone who shows him an ounce of affection should be with someone who’s so emotionally unavailable and has no issue maintaining that stance? Nothing about this story is actually romantic it’s actually quite depressing.

This is def mostly porn without plot because I’m losing brain cells along with this dumb duo lol.

I’m glad the artist drew this, but I really have to commend the novel’s author because this truly is a well written BL. I can literally tell the exact number of BL I’ve read that have actually been a good STORY, and the number is in the single digits and I’ve read thousands of BL in my years as an avid reader at this point. The only thing I wish the author had expanded upon was what became of the Bunch royal family that orchestrated this sick experiment to begin with. The superintendent was evil but he wasn’t the mastermind. Also I thought he died in the prison being repeatedly shot but he survived to only die later? I’m happy to have had a happy ending despite my unanswered questions.

lol and I remember being downvoted because I said this exact cliche route would happen. This genre is formulaic at this point. Once you’ve read one Korean BL you’ve read them all. They always go the same route of toxicity every time.

I really do wonder how people throw the word "masterpiece" around like it’s free candy when it comes to some popular BL. It is a decent story, the ONLY likable character in this story is Sak, the sick rental child, and Echo. Everyone else is truly awful or some shade of gray leaning towards black. I don't even know if I even like the main couple, despite getting the backstory of Lima I just cannot get over how genuinely cruel he can be at times within moments, despite it being clear as day Sak is a fish out of water in this story.

***SPOILERS***
I was so disgusted by the cave rape scene and Sak being so ignorant of what just happened to him despite knowing what sex is. And post aftermath resignation made it so much worse. Make that makes sense that this is what we want as audience to start of a romance? And especially after Sak literally just buried a fucking child just MINUTES or hours before. What the fuck is the tone. Lima does have character development for what it is worth, having been a jaded former child soldier exposed to horror and trauma. I am going to be generous and assume the author wanted to go the "hurt people hurt people route" for his character. However, given this genre's dependency on Lima's personality type as an archetype for much of the genre I am holding my breath. I get its an apocalyptic world where there are child soldiers, secret government experiments, conspiracies, and betrayals but i am so just over even in this "masterpiece" setting we still get the exact formula of meek innocent uke and abusive uncommunicative seme and then when reading the comments I feel like I'm taking crazy pills because the story is just simply okay with the plot leaving many things unanswered, the main couple still presumably on the run, and no one being held accountable for the behind the scenes manipulations and struggles of our main character.

Would people still recommend reading Moritat if I did not exactly care for this manhwa?

blueninja89 created a topic of Half Line

Sigh. As this moves along I should not have had high expectations but alas we are going the cliche of cliche routes I was genuinely hoping against. At this point I feel I am to blame for thinking things would progress any other way than the typical chauvinism of a self absorbed top character and a meek bottom character who enables objectified behavior. I genuinely do not understand why authors write in such binary in this genre. I don’t know if EVERY single female writer cannot comprehend any other dynamic but it’s so invasive within the genre and their lived experience? I’m genuinely unsure if BL can exist without misogyny even when women are not the genre’s focal point. I’m not saying the top is a monster for his treatment, but I genuinely wonder do female writers think men are truly incapable of not exhibiting violence or anger at all turns in their love language? And especially given the author’s former project “Second Piatto”. This is disappointing, to attach themselves to a novel of this caliber to edit and draw out when I’m sure there are much better out there that aren’t your C grade churned out wattpad fanfic.

While this was well written. I left this manhwa hating both characters. They are truly too toxic for one another to ever be a real couple. Cirrus is manipulative, cruel, co-dependent, spiteful, has abandonment issues, and is emotionally unstable. Skyler is violent, volatile, avoidant, apathetic, painfully insecure, self-absorbed, and weak willed. I honestly felt so unnerved by both characters’ backstories and while well executed, the lack of any closure for both these young men, means they use each other as their source of “comfort” from reality and while heartbreaking is in no way a healthy way of processing. I wish this was longer because honestly these two need additional fleshing out characterization wise, yet the reality is the author is right to end it this way because realistically there would not be a neat resolution to their respective trauma. Still it left me unsatisfied, and even angry that this will still be framed as “romantic” when all I see just see is a tragedy. I’m terrified of both of them and terrified of them being together.
