sometimes i just wish if both characters are originally seme, they'd just be a seke couple. I know yaoi is a terrible reflection on actual gay relationships but always needing to be forced into seme, uke roles gets old.Though some people prefer such specific roles in real life too.
100% agree with you but the thing is Yaoi is pretty much porn made for japanese girls thats why they force this uke/seme thing into the manga so those girls can somehow feel related to the Uke since they can never be a seme (unles they wear a strapon LOL) thats also why there are tons of yaoi out there where the uke is pretty much a girl in a man's body wich is annoying af. Things are getting better nowadays tho, there are a lot more seke couples and manly ukes then it used to be
Oh ya! One of my favorite couples has a scene where the uke is being harassed for being gay and he beats up the guy, then the seme comes in and they beat him up together. I normally don’t like fights but the whole uke handeling himself and the working together made me really happy. (Then again I don’t know actually who has what position, but either way both are strong characters)
I love this one http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/mazu_wa_ubaiai/

I don't speak for everyone, but for those who like/dislike Zono, this is how I see his behavior. I get the feeling that Zono and Fumi don't interact at all without Kaede or Ryousuke as a buffer, or without them having sex. There's nothing that shows that they've grown romantically inclined towards the other that's organic i.e. just hanging out or those lull moments that provide character depth with one another. Zono's at the moment speaks more towards a lust filled jealousy with a sprinkling of pity more than i've fallen in love with Fumi even by the end of the chapter. They're definitely within their right to have a physical relationships with one another and other people while neither is in a relationship. However, Zono has indicated that Fumi is simply lonely and using Kaede as a crutch so Fumi should focus on someone else like Zono to ease his "broken heart". Then with this in mind what makes Zono any different? They're using each other which is again within their right, but how is Fumi getting a happy ending then if that's apparently the end goal? He's clearly doesn't have feelings for Zono at the moment, and Zono's own feelings towards Fumi are ambiguous. If Fumi falls in love with Zono it'll be the typical you took my virginity, now i'm conditioned to think that sex equals love situation because you're my first intimate interaction. Zono's only indicated that he wants Fumi to give up on Kaede and choose him, not the promise of a romantic relationship. After all they began having sex because of Zono's attraction to Fumi's face right? It's not even explained why they were having sex initially or technically continue. Zono "blackmails", Fumi but doesn't really mean it, it's just a sex game really. More or less a kink for their foreplay with one another. In real life Zono would probably bore of Fumi just as quickly has they began and go back to sleeping around tbh. That might change in future chapters, but right now it's the typical rich boy is lonely and settles for the resident player bad boy who just likes the chase.
More or less the author wants Fumi to be happy but really it's just toxic projection of needing affection more than love that Fumi keeps falling into. I don't even dislike Zono or anything like that he is what he is. I just feel it's forced that just because he's introduced among the initial central pairing, he's the fallback plan for someone like Fumi who needs clearly someone who would coddle him rather than play mind games. There'e not even enough character growth in Zono in one chapter for him to seemingly now love Fumi regardless of if he's still sleeping around. People who are in love still have sex with others, fair enough too. Yet, sometimes I'd rather just have the author introduce a new character instead than clash preexisting characters just for the sake of a relationship which clearly wouldn't mesh well without the central pairing to prompt it.
also side note Chapter 5 has been translated. You'll see what I mean about Zono now.

tbh I don't even get the point of the second couple. Who just literally meets someone within moments has sex with them and then has "amnesia" has to how they're having sex in a bathroom. You're not drunk, drugged, or anything just randomly having sex with no context. Then continues to have sex with said person all while saying they're in love with their childhood friend you've apparently been searching desperately to be reunited with. He's not even being forced which is the usual explanation, so his continuous sex for no reason is just fan service. Zono photo blackmail is clearly is not even being utilized seriously. Zono's characterization is just a playboy clearly into Fumi's appearance and just in it for the sex.Plus he actually has multiple partners we don't know about too. He answers a text from Fumi while he's with said partner about to have sex. But then somehow falls in love with Fumi just because? Yeah definitely prefer the first couple at least they actually had a plot that made sense. The author clearly wanted to make Fumi have a happy ending but I'm not even sure Zono really loves him just the typical he's someone else's I must have him trope.#-.-)
Man after this chapter I'd like to see someone call Hyesung a brat and victim blame him yet again. Yes, this is fiction, but how people have made up their mind to dislike a character who for all intents and purposes acts like how a FUCKING real person would act faced with past abuse and lowly prospects. So what Hyesung thought he was an alpha and wanted to marry a rich omega, it didn't happen and never will. He didn't even rely on a fallback plan of ensnaring a rich alpha once he knew he was an omega. He just wants to be on his own, on his own terms that's it. This chapter discredits any bullshit excuse people have made that Hyesung is a gold digger and stupid or whatever excuse... HE TRIED TO LEAVE MULTIPLE TIMES and didn't ask for anything from Dojin. How people can call Hyesung stupid is beyond me. Because he's not smart in your book, that makes him stupid? He obviously might be naive but he's smart enough to know what's best for himself. COME ON MAKE ANOTHER EXCUSE. I'd like to see how you'd handle his life.
I get the point of removing yourself from literature, but authors want readers to empathize with their characters. It's the point of getting into characters' heads whether good or bad, to create development and attachment to the overall plot or narrative.Yet a lot of the readers apparently can't be bothered to do. Regardless of him being pregnant already without his knowledge, Dojin's intention to rape Hyesung so he'll carry Dojin's child shows currently how terrible Dojin is to Hyesung. Doesn't matter if he provides Hyesung material compensation doesn't change he was forced against his will. Also to Dojin the money isn't even important to him, he's wealthy and an alpha, it's insignificant to him. Knowing later the real time of the baby's conception of course sheds better light on things. Still, up until now Dojin has way more power in the relationship, i.e. releasing his pheromones to incapacitate Hyesung and rape him. Hyesung creating the contract and now using Dojin for his money while pregnant in Hyesung's mind equates to how Dojin was prior using Hyesung as artistic inspiration i.e. providing money to Dojin too. It's also for Hyeseung's security. He has no job, no money, no where to live, etc. Hyesung has a great friend for even pointing out to him just how unequal a footing he has to Dojin should anything happen to him and the baby.
I honestly feel for Hyesung so much to be forced to have a baby, when you're not at all emotionally or mentally ready for it must be awful. He's young, so he's acting bratty at 20yrs old for sure but wanting to at least give the baby to Dojin and know the child is provided for is RESPONSIBLE. Not wanting a baby and staying around the baby is unhealthy for himself and the baby. Even willingly pregnant mothers face this in Postpartum Depression at times. He's come around to loving his child yes, but even people who keep their children can still be awful people. What makes Hyesung awful for walking away? Are people who give up their children for adoption for a better life now awful too? People's logic here is absolutely amazing. Dojin isn't to blame for the unplanned pregnancy because really it's not entirely his fault. However he's got a lot of groveling to do in the future when really Hyesung doesn't owe Dojin ANYTHING, but he's instead in Hyesung's mind TAKEN entirely away Hyesung's freedom.
Dojin of course isn't entirely to blame here either as I'm sure he wants to be a good parent and think of the safety of their unborn child. I actually feel for Dojin as well because he's not a bad person, he's just clearly an emotional person who doesn't know how to express himself. His conversation with his sister during polo highlights this. Yet, Dojin has dug a hole he can't get out of knowing his treatment of Hyesung has left a bad impression. I actually want Dojin and Hyesung to be happy and of course have them love their child and each other but as equal partners.I'm all for that kind of love. I know i'll get flack for being a hypocrite for caring so much about a manga while acknowledging it's fiction, but talking about good well written literature prompts people to think about things critically in so many different avenues as well. This manga is not one dimensional so why are the characters being regarded as so.
Team Hyesung all the way. I really love him and he is the only reason I'm reading this. I dropped so many omegaverses because of how the omega is portrayed as someone who is weak, dependent and just grovels after an alpha. Here this one wants to live his life the way he wants to and refuses to take shit from no one and I love it.
I should make clear too i'm not taking sides of either character. I like BOTH characters. I'm just fed up of alpha characters like Dojin getting scot free as being perfect simply because they're drawn hot. He's done some bad stuff so far just as much as good. Characters reacting to consequences instead of the typical yaoi logic of ignoring the elephant in the room (rape, violence, inequality, misunderstanding, etc) most times is refreshing. Hyesung has substance as a character and so does Dojin so please acknowledge that if anything. That's my main point I hope to get across.
OMG! you said all I was thinking about Hyesuung character! but english is not my mother language, so is hard for me (spanish is my first language).
So yes, I don't understand all the hate is put in hyesuung. He knows that he can have a baby, and you said it right, if hyesuung had wanted, he would have taken advantage of his condition as omega, and make used of this inspiration post sex (lol).
So is this going to go in the direction of childhood friend trope where one did something horrible to the other yet it's okay he's my first love and I've apparently never gotten over him so I'll forgive him for whatever transgression and we'll both live happily ever after as if his shit smells like roses? Cause manhwa's seem to be dealing this out left and right i.e. A Man Like You, What Lies At the End, Heesu in Class 2, Escape into Oblivion. I ain't mad just wondering if this is the latest trend now apparently?

I feel so conflicted after reading this. While I'm not a fan of playboy semes like Takeru he's such a complex character. An individual like him is a product of his environment. He learned by example from his father that in order to garner attention and "love" you have to provide pleasure to others in some gratuitous fashion. This can take the form of sex, money, alcohol-essentially hedonistic pleasure. Takeru doesn't know what love is nor has he truly experienced it. What little he knows came in the form of his father's favorite mistress/ his son's tutor who was gained the sort of pleasure i've mentioned previously from Takeru's father, which I'm sure Takeru replicated in order to garner affection from her as well and create a bridge to his negligent father. I have to pity Takeru because i'm sure he doesn't even realize that this love he probably thought he harbored for her is likely a mixture of teenage hormones and a misplaced desire to be nurtured in some way. Hence why his novel's portrayal of her makes her greater than she actually was, which the mistress clearly recognized and commented that this was not herself but a glorified redition.
Takeru became the man that he is as a result of hiding himself and giving others what they wanted in order for them to "love" him. Takeru uses sex to obtain people's interest in him, but his inability to demonstrate anything beyond true affection and care shines through. Thus people can't stand him for long because really his personality is horrible and fake. Takeru knows this as well, but doesn't know how to change or maybe doesn't feel the need to change. But the cycle of him being unhappy continues with this in mind. I'm glad he got the closure he needed to try and break this cycle. I'm actually happy he did fall in love with Koga as well, because Koga actually clearly saw through Takeru to the origin of his pain and just forced him to address it head on. Avoidance gains you nothing. Though like I said i'm conflicted about their relationship because I honestly think Takeru getting over his ex so quickly won't overwrite the pseudo-exterior he's built up around himself so quickly. I mean he's been like this for years, weeks aren't just enough. I'm actually worried that as earnest as he may seem he may in fact cheat on Koga had the manga continued or if this was placed in a real world scenario. Though this is fiction of course and if they're happy together i'm happy as a reader. Though Takeru appears to be a sex addict and the affection he perceives from it is tied up in the physical act for him. That takes a while to change a mindset is so ingrained. For example, he couldn't even stop himself from being physical with Koga despite knowing that having sex so soon would cheapen his affections. As Koga said they've not even said "i love you" to each other yet. While you don't have to have sex to love someone, Takeru needs to learn to differentiate intimacy and pleasure at this point so for this reason sex maybe should have been delayed. Of course Koga is a consenting adult, but Takeru knows Koga is not as sexually experienced as him. Koga went with the flow of Takeru's pace trying to meet Takeru's expectations, when really they both should feel at ease with one another.
Tbh this is one of the only yaoi mangas for the first time I wish the mc couple had not consummated their relationship so quickly. Takeru knows his bad habit of wanting people the way he does is a bad habit. Takeru needs a little more time to grow up and I'm sure Koga would have stayed besides him regardless for him to do so. Koga has clearly accepted Takeru is who he is because of his experiences, and is not actually a great guy but one who's at least trying to be better. Still I'm a glutton for punishment and did appreciate the sex regardless. Lastly these are just my opinions and of course we can disagree. I just wanted to praise such nuanced characterization. Man I really did like his manga. These characters were just so amazing because they had so much depth to them. Like I said I usually am not a fan of the playboy trope(seme/uke) because they toy with their partner's emotions and their reasoning behind it is usually petty, childish, or just simple fuckboi tendencies. But wow has Amagakure sensei made me given more thought to the trope when it is done in a mature/ honest way. Also big thanks to The Devil Herself, because while I'm sorry this was uploaded without your consent I'm really glad I got to read this.
Apparently there's a sequel for the manga..?? Or Idk since myreadingmanga labels it as a sequel...though I searched it up in mangaupdates and the cover is of the two couples from the manga this story adapted from. All chapters for it is out so hopefully it gets translated soon.
Yakedo to Tsumeato is a sequel to this: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/seinen_hakkaten/
just actually looked into just now yep there's apparently a sequel to Seinen Hakkaten which is the story of Najima's nephew but takes place seven years into the future, https://myanimelist.net/manga/86566/Aoi_Tori_yori can't seem to find raws either but yeah hopefully it's translated.
Oh my, that's quite an essay you made. :D You got the names *ahem* mixed up, but I get what you mean. ^^ Their characterization and the way Amagakure-sensei handled them are what me fell in love, and prompted me to work on Seinen Hakkaten and Yakedo to Tsumeato. They're just super relatable, endearing, hurting and funny. I like it when you said that they shouldn't have progressed too fast in their relationship but at the same time, you're open to what's to come with them in the future, because it's open-ended (sorta) yet brimming with hope (because Najima started healing, too, as mentioned on the last panel). And that's why I'll be working on the final volume (that wraps up both stories) with a collaborator in a couple of months. ;)
And don't worry about having my scans uploaded here, I don't mind at all. I was irked in the beginning because Mangago uploaded the pages MINUS the credits page, but I contacted them, and the credits are in place now, so we're good. ^^
No problem. I'm glad you guys like it. ^^
And, Amagakure-sensei is the best. :')
Just wanted to clarify, Najima and Takeru are the same person lmfao Najima Takeru's lover is Koga Masamune.
There’s a Chinese translated version though if you’re interested :)
Aoi Tori Yori - http://www.manhuaren.com/manhua-xingfudeqingniao
I remember ages ago questioning why Bakugou would just willingly go along with whatever the shady black haired dude tells him, I almost feel bad that my premonition came true. I mean why someone wouldn't question why they're a zombie and just accept
it so easily while literally the sole person that knows you're a zombie readily has zombie tech just on hand is beyond me. I get being scared you'll hurt someone, but why not prioritize WHY AM I A ZOMBIE? Of course the dude doesn't have your interests at heart. A normal person who dies would stay dead not be zombie out of friggin nowhere. I know the author wrote the the character to be naive but sometimes by suspension of disbelief can't overlook common sense. I love the Resident Evil reference because this literally mimics circumstances of the heroine Alice as she becomes badass zombie/ human/ telekinetic that she is. Never trust people who have access to secret tech and underground labs boys and girls.
Wow that new info that made everything so much worse. Giving off those Canis vibes now.
Also, given that similar events have happened in real life, it makes the apathetic response to the abuse from the Arnault son, who too is only caring about his dick at this stage, even more infuriating. Child abuse concerning the care system was a well known secret, and has led to some high profile allegations and prosecutions relatively recently, so I wonder, given the UK/ European setting if the author was unfortunately inspired by these recent cases.
It's hard to have sympathy for the son, at the end of the day he is contributing to the cycle of abuse experienced by the staff at the salon, and the political corruption by being it's patron. He also was made aware of two instances of abuse, Heath being battered by a client, and Arwin being forced to work as a child, yet all he can think about is the next time he will get to sleep with Arwin.
It also makes the dad look worse, if that was even possible.
What are you on about???? Are you reading the same thing i am
?
