I feel like it’s more of a personality thing. Like how they act in certain situations. Not exactly being just shy, flirty, etc. Like how they treat other people, or how they react around others. I believe a lot of characters have multiple sides to them, just like real people. So, even if they are shy they could still be flirty at times and vice versa. But, if I had to pick one trait. I would pick neither (sorry). I have like characters of both traits before but, I still prefer a confident lead. I think mostly because it just makes the plot more interesting when a character is willing to step out of the “normal” perception that others may have. And I like seeing that as I am more of a shy person myself. It’s nice seeing characters stand up for what they want or believe in instead of just going along with something or someone for the sake of fitting in or not wanting to make a “scene”.
