So do authors just not know how to make a tragic heroines without making her family absolute pieces of shit? Is that the only way to make FMLs pitiful and sympathetic? Making her endure endless abuse? This is starting to become copy and paste, especially with the "step sister/cousin" character that believes they are superior in every way just because.
The "enemy to lovers" trope is FORCED even more than usual. Like, it's obvious the ML probably had nothing to do with her brother's death and the entire tension will be dragged out misunderstandings/lack of information. That being said, this is still pretty good so far. Proving even a forced cliche/trope can still be good. I'm just hoping the "he killed my brother I can't love him and must kill him" part is short lived.
Strongly agree
