Main thing I don't like about this is top attitude. I don't like the trope where a character keeps something hidden to protect someone else but keeping that thing hidden doesn't really change anything. Like whether the person they were protecting new or not, it didn't really matter a change anything. All I did was cause frustration and misunderstandings, like just tell him so that he's not so untrusting. You already know something dumb is going to happen in the future or somebody gets hurt because the top wouldn't just tell the bottom.
