seems like it was mentioned that she was "sick" for a fair amount of time which I assumed would have been how they covered it amongst the students but I'm wondering how they would be able to cover that with the birthing situation..
They said she was absent from school for quite some time and they just assumed she studied abroad

If it's a normal birth not a c section or a premature birth. She is ready to go right after giving birth, so not much of resting at hospital she just leaves or more like running away with the kid without getting proper care, check ups, etc
and since she hid the whole thing to the people around her when she goes back shes just sick since they wouldn't assume (oh she just gave birth the other day so she's tired)
Anyway as long as she didn't register the baby there is no record of anything so nobody can find it out
I don't know about Japan but its like that in a lot of countries so abandoned babies which is to me one of the cruelest acts against humanity is pretty common

I LOVE THIS MANGA SO MUCH my prayers have been answered. Finally there is a balance. There is finally a fleshed out female character who not only is clumsy and loves house work but is also PROACTIVE and takes the lead without being whiny or dimwitted. AND the manga is cheesy as hell in a good way. I'm so happy.
Minerva is probably evil. He had the stuffed animal and he was the one that came up with the idea of splitting the world in two. Either he also eats humans that come to him from the clues (the smartest ones) or he is going to send the kids back to the farm. there's no way he's 100% good.
