It's more so about the design. The game has such high-quality graphics and beautifully designed characters (especially they ally thumbnails), and then the manhua... well, it's very typical manhua-y.

Yea but have y seen the later 3D models? EUGHHHHH. Dude they literally only cared abt Erii and not the side characters like Chime. I admit, in the earlier stages and the earlier designs yea they’re really detailed and the graphics are beautiful BUT LATER ON??? The models for the cards do not do them justice. And I NEVER EVER forgive them for how they downplayed Chime’s death to make Erii Look more important. I’ll have you know I personally looked up the novel raw to find Chime’s death scene AND IT WAS SO EMOTIONAL. The game just tossed him to the side. Not to mention the Game story Starts in Book 3, skipping a bunch of lore so nothing seemed to make sense and it all seems so jumbled. It’s so obvious the characters the devs favored so much they spent no effort on other characters. I agree with you, I fell for the graphics of the game but as the story went on everything just got so watered down and low quality to the point they didn’t even bother separate yen from dollars. I’m not even kidding. At least the Manhua had more background on the actual story though the designs may be average. And there was def more colors to the characters personalities than portrayed in the game.
