sho-ai translates to boys love, right? so technically, everything that depicts "boys love" is sho-ai.
yaoi stands for no plot, no climax, no resolution. therefore, the perfect description for a smut. however, some of those smuts still have plots and whatnot.
and i think all this arguments about the tag is completely useless cause in the end, if it's not implied in the main story, it's not gonna be included.
yaoi and sho-ai tags are completely trivial matters when you know as a reader that there's a possibility that it might not happen just based on the story itself.
i think the reason why people just ignore the fact that hye sung suffered his whole life is because the author doesn't really emphasize it in the present. like i feel like what people are saying abt his past to defend him would've had more impact on those ppl annoyed at him if hyesung showed a bit more vulnerability. that was what i liked with the hye sung on the prequel. the hye sung there was a spit fire but the author showed how miserable his life was and how miserable it still is. unlike here where we just get this xD.
honestly i think it's best not to stress yourself about the serious stuff cause as of now this isn't really one of those serious stories that actually take those important matters into account. it's just fluff with smut? xD
it's about what the rape has done and what it meant. i totally get what the creator's theme was but like it just doesn't work for some people. it's good if people like me got what the creator was showing but i think it could've made things less abrupt and twisted if oono's feelings were expressed more.
more than what the author did cause it was just not enough to prove the dubcon thingy especially if he said that he was hurt. i know that it was inevitable but the seme didn't care about it all. i wish he cared about what be actually did more than what he got out of it.
and if there's really more to this, i hope to see kureshimas perspective or anything that shows that at least it doesn't continue as a manipulative type of relationship.
