I’ve always had a feeling that Yeodan was just a side character and then recently (with the updates of this fake dating b/w him and Dani) the notion of Dani ending up together with Yeodan occurred to me. I thought it would be so bad after all — why? Because Yeodan is a sweetheart. When I started thinking like that, I experienced heartache from the looming likelihood of a breakup Does Dani have to suffer breaking her Yeodan oppa’s heart??? Whyyy. I don’t want the two of them to go through thattttt
It's been a while since I've read the novel but I think it's refreshing that the author decided to make Dani and Yeodan together just to break them up. I mean, I don't know what the author's thinking when she wrote this but I like the fact that this novel doesn't follow stereotype where the heroine will end up with the hero without trying into another relationship. (Also, I think Yuri's curse was to blame; something about wanting Dani to feel heartbroken)
And I read somewhere that Yeodan is the one who asked for a breakup first? Because Yeodan is very possessive and Dani has a lot of male friends, and instead of becoming a toxic boyfriend where he would ask Dani to stop seeing the four heavenly kings due to jealousy, he decided to break up before he would do something he might regret and Dani would hate him.
You have a point. Having MC in a shoujo have some relationship experience is distinctive from the MC ending up with who she liked first, as is the case with the works dominating the genre. Such a course also serves for some character growth and for a more relatable character, both of which I appreciate.
If Yeodan and Dani had to break up because it would be healthier for them, and the decision was made with thoughtful consideration for the best of both parties, then it really isn’t a tragedy in the grand scheme of things.
I still ache for the heartache they have to go through though. It’s not like people break up knowing what the future has in store for them.
Plus, feelings in the present are often the most poignant and piercing. I feel for whatever tender feelings that Yeodan and Dani nurtured in their relationship at the present chapters, and I will also feel for the abandonment of that.
It’s heart-wrenching to break bonds after all, even when it’s for the better.
I’m also a big healthy relationship dynamic advocate, so it makes the break up an easier pill to swallow.
I really see your point. Thanks for the info.
It’s sort of a relief to know the breakup happened with a mature and caring standpoint (to both characters) instead of dreading if this was gonna blow up and cause irreconcilable damage to Yeodan and Dani.
- adorable meter (maxed)
- trustworthy main characters
- love story based on trust and respect not just attraction
- growth potential (1000)
- line art you shouldn’t miss out on
- nuanced interactions between characters
- engaging read that you’ll read squirming with excitement at certain times
- guaranteed that you will at least once find yourself thinking “cuteness overload”
- I’m the type who can’t get excited by simple light-heartedness in a story. I need meaningful and sensible talk between the characters, a more intimate vibe from time to time, a sense that we’re getting to know the characters more deeply, even when buoyed by the humor. If you’re like me, I recommend this read! This is a humorous but not shallow read. A true gem of shoujo universe.
- OTP-worth coupling
- promising storyline
- might have more merits that I’m not including here so you might as well find out for yourself by reading the work ^^
- I really just wanted to rant about how adorbs this masterpiece is. (This is no way a proper review that could fully give the work justification).
I just thought that if someone out there find themselves loving this manga just as much as me if not more and this post is what gave them the nudge, then wouldn’t that be wonderful?
Wouldn’t it be a waste otherwise?
