Why are straight and gay the only two options?
And why is it that if it's a "straight" guy and a gay guy are in a relationship it's assumed that the "straight" guy isn't as invested in it as the other? I've seen this kind of thing so often in yaoi and as a bi person myself I can't help but be a lil sad... Especially since I can't help but love the manga cuz it's so good...
I bawled like a baby reading it 。:゚(;´∩`;)゚:。
Hi I’m bi myself (or pan I’m not sure)! But for some reason I never thought of this as biphobia. And I don’t think it’s because there aren’t any bi people in Japan or Asia but I think because of the common stereotype/problem(?) of homophobia. I mean, like it was in the manga if you even say you like men you’d be labeled as fag before you could even discover if you like both men and women or just men. But to me in this manga the thing about Kawai being straight would still be there if he was bi, because the problem was that Ohara believed he would (in the end) choose a woman (to maybe fit society’s norms or make his parents happy) over him.
Hi! Another bisexual here, I never thought of this kind of topics as biphobia, and the reasons behind this are two:
- The romantized concept of "I don't like men, I just like you", which it makes the relationship or feelings "more special".
- The lack of general knowledge on bisexuality per se, from the general population, which includes our beloved mangakas in some cases.
Late comment here but I'd say that back when this story was released (2014), bisexuality wasn't very well known in East Asia. People only knew straight and gay, and they threw trans people into the gay section carelessly too. It's not until, I'd say 2018, 2019ish that awareness for the other letters in LGBTQ+ got slightly better here, you can see that many recent manga/manhwa have bi people in it or they stop with the "straight man who fall in love with a gay man" shtick.
I like it and want to see where this is going and maybe it's just me being silly but... Like why is it that if a girl is with a guy who's already in a relationship then she's condemned for being a homewrecker but if it's a guy who's with a girl who's already in a relationship it's a mistake she made and the guys a victim? Like wtf? In both cases they're both wrong...
Home wrecker is someone who breaks a married family not a bf or gf. Its a very specific type of relationship.
A man can be a home wrecker as well.
I think the problem is most mistress want to take the wife position. While some males just want a fling. No strings attached so he doesnt care to brake up a family to insert himself in it.
They only thing i can think of that is unfair and sexist is the term hooker and giggalo. Both sell themselves, but if a man sells himself he's like a host and glorified. Girls who sell themselves are generally viewed as dirty.

Double standards.
Well... I think that depends on the situation? For instance if the person who the cheater cheats with doesn't know that he or she already has someone, then they're definitely also a victim of the situation, because they're also getting cheated in a way.
On the other hand, if they know and they're actively involved (and sometimes even encouraging) in destroying a relationship for personal gain... Can you really call the person blameless? Though, of course, there's that age old argument "you can't help who you love", but the fact that they were partially responsible in some way in taking away a person's happiness is still true...
Personally (this is only my personal opinion, people can have different opinions, I don't think everyone has to agree with me) I think that both parties should at the very least feel guilty about the pain they cause to a person.
That said, it's definitely true that a bigger portion of the blame lies on the cheater for sure, because they're the one who are making a promise and commitment to the person they're in a relationship with, and some unrelated third party has no such commitment or duty (unless that third party is a friend or family of course, in that case it's definitely betrayal).
This would really be a favourite of mine if there was a more realistic transition for the seme to go from bullying to liking the uke... On both sides... The uke just sorta accepts everything the seme does and there's nothing from his part either for why he stopped disliking the seme... like there's a panel in the beginning where the uke flinches away from the seme out of fear... And a bit after that after persistent (sexual) harrassment from the seme the uke just ends up being ok with it and loves him... I just can't hep but be a little creeped out unfortunately (idk I just can't find it cute, and I LOVE this sensei's other manga) plus the uke's just a bit too passive and feminine for me
