It's a basic jaded man/love starved woman plot, but when the FL spoke about how the ex wife left him and didn't love him it was so weird to me, like his negligence caused the death of their son, of course she hates him and divorced him.
Basically ML had a previous family, was to busy trying to be a perfect company president and didn't give his son the time of day, son tries to prove to dad he can ride his bike but gets hit by a car while with dad and wife leaves him. FL is a secutary who worked for ML later, didn't really know he used to have a family, sleeps with him and gets pregnant, ML DOESNT BELIEVE HER AND IS SUPER RUDE TO HER, a year later she seeks him out to get to know her daughter and propose joint custody but she still has feelings for him and doesn't understand why he can't get over his old family.
The story gives a overall callous and ignorant vibe in terms of dealing with death of a child and grief, and the way the ML treats the FL when she tells him she's pregnant and even after the kids born and HE STILL DOESNT BELIEVE THE KIDS HIS.
hated it from the bottom of my heart lol

Why is the translation so bad and messy, I get running it through a translator if you can't read the language but it's Luke they didn't clean it and make it legible after :((( this is the first bad translation of a manga that I've not been able to just use context clues to figure out, hope the translator works hard in the future ╥﹏╥

Truthfully I hate the "woe is me neglected 2nd daughter" trope just because she's always paired with a "stoic and doesn't reveal everything on his mind duke" like your causes all this confusion because you don't think it's the right time to tell her your true feelings?! Even during the scene where they see the evil sister at the opera he says something along the lines of " I know there's confusion about who I wanted to marry between you and your sister, but you trust me right?" JUST SAY YOU WANTED TO MARRY HER SPECIFICALLY AND STOP BEING SO DAMN DUMB. GOD. Like your whole plan doesn't fall apart if you tell her you actually love her, ughhh such a frustrating read.

Why is the MC being so nice to her Ex-husbands wife? Like did she not contribute to your pain and suffering while with your ex? Did she not fuel your ex's god-complex that he wasn’t the problem and that you were because she got pregnant and you didn’t? She took your husband, made you have to go back to your shitty family and was the reason you were branded infertile !!
Idk maybe I'm petty but like, she devised a plan to get knocked up by a random guy, go to your husband who she was also fucking and claiming he's the dad, got you kicked out and married him, then went out and got pregnant again to secure her place but decided she couldn't take his shitty attitude and abuse so she left... what is in the water in this goddamn town???
Okay yeah I'm sure she has bigger problems right now but that scene angered me so much because girl, YOU ARE TO TRUSTING LIKE YOU JUST GOT SET-UP BY YOUR BITCH SISTER AND NOW YOUR TRUSTING THIS BITCH TOO???? STAND UP !!!!!!!

Well to be honest even without the ex-husband's wife she still suffered as much(even more)....the guy never even took to consider the fact that he was the problem.....right after the wife got pregnant he divorced the MC.....and well her married life was shit too ....so it didn't matter where she was living(be it in her ex-husband's house or with her shitty family)....I would rather say that it was better for her that she could leave that husband.....if she didn't she would never have met the ML
So well from MC's what the wife did helped MC in the long run and besides I don't think showing hatred at that time would have even done anything.....the wife was pregnant and instead of leaving things in the bitter note(when you are going through problems) better to leave things in a sweet note

I looooove the new take that this series is going with! A divorce lawyer who also has clients that are the "MC" of their own stories and have to deal with the classic " I will divorce the Duke before my death flag rises/before the original heroine returns" is such a good theme and has so much ammo to work with~
The current client ticks all the boxes of modern women thrown into her fav romance novel and trying to survive as the villainous and it's interesting to see that character trope interact with actual level-headed characters, and how much that makes readers hate the current client more. From other comments I've read it seems like the client Estelle is annoying and to ditsy for the readers to like her compared to our established stoic and straightforward lawyer MC.
While if this was a typical isekai, we the readers would probably love that character trope and find the stoic divorce lawyer and silly duchess as a fun combo to play off of each other. But seeing things from another perspective, the duchess hurts more than she helps her lawyer try and grant her the wanted divorce. I can't help but think "wow this author really knows how to change the perspective on these beloved trope cheaters and make me root for the usually background character; the lawyer there to help with a divorce"
All in all this is a great perspective switch story and I wish I would follow more cliche trope in the future! "Cheating husband and sister/ killed me in a past life but loves me now/ Saint who awakens and isn't believed and Fiance is taken by the fake saint" just a few that came from the top of my head.
Happy reading! ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶
MC literally gets fired from his adventure party (they were nice about it) goes back home, gets married to his childhood crush and awakens his power while defeating an Orc, all in the first 4 chapters lol
At least it kicks itself off immediately without messing around for 50 chapters ¯_(ツ)_/¯
