
I can't get *too* angry at the older many-ears. Staying under the radar has been how they've survived for generation. They think it's genuinely dangerous for them to stand out, so it makes sense that they would be unsettled. To them, Iruma's lessons are setting them up for failure, and maybe even death. They would be left "helpless" in the real world, and they would stray away from "crucial" survival techniques. They wanted protection for their children, not more danger down the road! It's not that they just hate change, it's that they have been taught that this SPECIFIC change would be life-threatening. ( ̄へ ̄)
