Ok put yourself in shin's shoes
You meet a man who's a gangster
You trust him as a gangster and start doing gang shit with him
He does suspicious things but...oh well he's a gangster. Anything's possible
Now all of a sudden because of a mission that was botched you get a very heavy inkling that he might be a cop which is technically almost worse than being a gangster because you can't trust cops
Not only that... Jake's coworkers all told him to tell shin because shin is his lover and you don't lie to your lover
At least not a lie of this magnitude

And why can't Shin trust Jake? Because if Jake is an undercover cop that means everything they've had together is a lie
Undercover cops create a different life during their mission
And once their mission is done...so is that life

I’m not writing a whole thinkpiece on this. Idc how deep the bond is. It’s normal to no longer trust someone who lied about who they are. Jake lied, Shin is hurt and confused. This is a normal human reaction. No intelligent person just ignores that they were lied to.
