I read it a few days ago in mangago. So i can clearly remember the first chapter. But I don't remember the title and pp so I was unable to find it again.
The mc is stalking his crush, who appered as a very kind, charishmatic and inspiring person. The mc started to like him when they were in middle school or something, they were running a race and the mc was a lap behind everyone and his crush tells him still not give up. After that the mc starts changing his style and apperence and becomes very handsome and enters the same highschool as his crush. Note he has nosebleeds when he sees his crush and the mc is probly the same?. Back to the present, One day as usual the mc was stalking his crush and sees his crush helping out a troubled friend by doing his(friend) part of cleaning duty cause of his (friend) request. The mc follows closely as his crush goes into some storage room and bursts out of anger because he had to do the work for his friend. This is not someone who the mc knows his crush as.
There was a time when BL was merely a subculture. But I think it's not same anymore. We could give excuses like, BL animes can't sell enough merchandise and it can't return the production value. I call that bullshit. I mean I've seen girls buying anything with non canon BL ships. Shirts, mugs, kye chain, dojuns anything. This shipping culture has even spread to kpop. Maybe yaoi might not appeal to a wide odience but Light BL's like no.6 are huge catches. They can start off the pedal that might develop to something like greatest animes someday. about the source materials I see no problem at all. Y'all are blind if you deny that. Korean manwhas are like hot cakes for the fujos nowadays. Many of them has really great aspects. So I see no reason as to why they still don't animate GOOD BLs into ANIMES OR ANIMATIONS. Come on south Korea they work on making Japanese animes but not their own thing. They have marketing skills to make this huge. For example look at Lazhin. They charge coins for quality webtoons. And I see the business only growing.
You gotta look at it from South Korea's point of view. The Korean animation industry is nothing compared to the Japanese animation industry. It's not just BL, it's all animation. Until they see a profitable market with less risk, they're not going to produce it.
As for more bl anime overall, I don't know what's holding them back. I'm guessing it has to do with lack of funds and the fear of failure and backlash. But it does seem like they're testing the waters with a few yaoi ovas(?) this season, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Just avoid short, sad and smutty ones. I'm in for any storyrich manga/webtoon with plot and great characters.
I think "at the end of the road" could fit right into your criteria. It has the best plot and amazing main characters . Really you should try it if you haven't yet
