He's very nervous to tell or admit it, that's why his fingers are fidgeting in the last chapter he's afraid of what sasaki will do or how will he react. Taishou is a hypocrite through and through. He steals secrets so casually while deeply afraid of his own being seen through. All his lectures are simply something he also needs, but that's the beauty of him
