I know they wont but part of me wishes Sidis and the gang will face a good bout of karma for talking about the ML behind her back like that. but no itll just be written off as a misunderstanding and theyll hug and laugh it off...like who even "jokes" about marriage like that, i dont blame her for taking it the way she did. they were so brutal.
Like usually misunderstandings in shoujo like this stem from a typical bully being mean and the male lead "seeming to agree". but this group of lads are supposed to be her friends and theyre talking about her behind her back like shes an object....

am i the only one who hasnt looked up spoilers for the manga, but appreciates how the author doesnt force the mc with the ml and it the mc chose to actively pine for the asshole so it doesnt feel like god is just shitting on her, BUT you can just feel it......after that look in the previously sweet concubines eyes, shit is about to hit the fan, and not in a gratifying way.......call it a womans intuition......

I can deal with lots of plot points being brushed off by the setting, aka the time they live in and the social norms and such.
BUT i still find it annoying that now that her family is seemingly 100% on her side, all she has to do is claim that someone hurt her and they get their panties in a twist? She didnt even prove whether or not her feet hurt to them and they took her word for it and plan to take out their anger with violence. just a liiiiiittle bit farfetched.
and not to be a shill but there is another webcmoic being translated rn very similar to this but the mc is much more interesting to watch, its called death is the only ending for the villianess. imo my fav webcomic of 2020.

I was gonna say the exact same thing! I really don’t like how easily they fell in line, not to mention the never ending list of how she was abused?? We learn everything alongside the brothers, everyday it is something that wasn’t mentioned before. And by god, how come it always details the maids whipping her while she hung from the ceiling? If that’s the case, the somehow now obsessed brothers, should have sentenced those maids to a brutal death. I agree that “death is the only ending for the villainess” is a 100x better. The reactions are more realistic, and the character is more love able and strong. My other problem is what the conflict for this story is gonna be. The main villains are gone, and I cannot find any kind of motivation that the main character has. Her past with cooking only seemed like a way to beat the villainess, and it doesn’t seem like she has dedicated her life to cooking. Sorry for rambling!

Sure, they prove it, but the family wouldn’t just accept her. They would begrudgingly agree to. They would still hold frustration, that’s how the human mind works. Most of the time we refuse to acknowledge people even after they were proven correct. They still hold hatred and definitely do not treat them with utmost kindness. When she mentions the shoes, they would most probably scoffed at her. They would be disgusted that she wanted to “take advantage” of the situation. However, based on the time period, many women weren’t believed because their well being (only mentally) wasn’t cared about. The social norm was for women to be side pieces, and not spoke up unless they are asked to or have the authority to do so.

I didn’t think of it this way. My thought was that both child and adult was Liam. I was thinking he was experimented on and not quite human anymore. Forced to age quickly for whatever reason and Then given powers either by accident or through experimentation or something. I’m thinking he doesn’t age normally anymore and could potentially be Semi-immortal (in the sense that he can’t die of old age, but can still be killed by other means). I think Liam killed all those people for revenge. Anger from being experimented on, kidnapped, tortured or all of the above. But hey, it’s still fairly early! So much potential for plot twists!
I'm a bit conflicted....
I'm not AT ALL against age Gap stories. Even if this age Gap is quite wide.
But the author put so much effort behind the premise of the story being "moving on from the death of a loved one", if the story ends where they get together, then they actually DIDNT move on. Ok they wait until she's eighteen...Her husband will be on deaths door, and her daughter twice her age? At that point why make it a reincarnation story? I don't want takae to remove herself from mariko, the ten year old she sometimes forgets she really is. There are plenty of other age Gap stories out there, so for the sake of not wanting the main characters to come off as hypocritical for giving themselves a pat on the back for putting their pasts behind them when they actually havent, I want mariko to move on (takeru or not), the husband to move on (coworker or not), and said husband to actually help his daughter cope with the loss of her mother, whom she lost while still young....Because to be honest....Looking at her trying to convince mariko to get remarried to her dad looked more like she was trying to convince herself, which could be bad for her mentAl health, to return to her middle school mindset, as a fully grown woman.
Mariko is the only character so far to show significant character growth. I hope her old life's daughter and husband can follow suit, since her home life is so troubled (another can of worms I won't open right now).
