It eases some of the sexual tension brought on by doumeki's flare up of jealousy and adds a kind of d'aww moment.

I saw this beautiful summary of chptr 43 posted in the comments and I thought oh has anyone thought about the parallels between yashiro and doumeki ? Specifically how ryuuzaki had been trying to talk Yashiro out of being a yakuza since he was a teenager... not unlike how yashiro tried to keep doumeki out of that life.Yet here they are.
Also, the way doumeki talks to yashiro now...if he wanted to come off as mature to impress, he is totally failing bc he sounds sassy and petulant (which is so friggin cute, I mean, this is doumeki!) I can't tell if it's lost on yashiro bc I NEED MORE THOUGHT BUBBLES! I want to get in their heads so bad. The sexual tension is more stressful than the cliffhangers.

Calm your NEGATIVE MINDS, it's getting obvious you're the one reading those types of manga. If you understand the story, you know by now that Doumeki isn't that type of man. So if he will pin-down/dominate/push Yashiro, it's because he thinks it's the right moment to nudge the guy but he will NOT force Yashiro into anything. (▰˘◡˘▰)

Common sense if you read this from beginning: you know Doumeki would know that it's USELESS to force himself on Yashiro. Yashiro wants a "rough Doumeki".. rape is basically useless on Yashiro since he's a maso-sex-addict, who wants Doumeki to go apeshit on him. So if Doumeki pushed Yashiro down, it's not to "rape him" but his own style of feeding Yashiro gentlesness.. I can't believe I have to explain this to newbies.

The contradiction between Yashiro's thoughts and actions (or lack of actions in this case) is simply astounding in chapter 32. If Yashiro is desperate to separate himself from Doumeki, then why didn't he (Yashiro) take off as soon as Doumeki left him alone for a few moments in the car. Even though Yashiro would not have succeeded in getting away most likely, but at least making another attempt would have shown that he is serious about Doumeki needing to stay the hell away from him. Did Doumeki even take the car keys with him when he got out of the car? Yashiro just missed the golden opportunity to slip away. Was that on purpose? Also, Yashiro's facial expression when Doumeki actually got out of the car and closed the door was rather interesting. Was Yashiro shocked by Doumeki leaving? For someone who just said "get out" to Doumeki, seeing that expression sure makes me question Yashiro's honesty.

Who is your favorite character and why?

This is the first time in the series where Yashiro has looked out ANY window and reflected on his life without it raining. Quite a few chapters back he thought about the beliefs he'd have to give up to let Domeki in his heart and I was really trying to figure out what the beliefs were and now it hit me. Yashiro didn't think he could be saved and also maybe he doubted that he was worth saving, but Doumeki did it! He saved him. Yashiro has no more excuses for the next time they meet.

I'm still mentally processing this last chapter...Doumeki knows he was left behind because Yashiro was trying to protect him. Their whole interaction was a super sly police interrogation and D totally owned this sh!t.
Yashiro confirms he left D so he'd have a chance at an honest life, thereby confirming he was trying to protect him... in a roundabout way (and unknowingly). Yashiro reminds him that he knew he was gonna get fired after having sex but he did it anyway. Why did he want D to live the fantasy til the end? Why care that much? Yeah Y messed up saying that....

I agree that Y wasn't being kind when he told D he was afraid to lose him.He was being selfish. There is no other way to analyze it it's either kind or selfish but both mean Y cares too much! Listening along, you can see how often the text completely localizes the slurs ie "tranny" "fag" "faggot" etc instead of the correct homo and okama, hentai. They mean different things, okama suggests Yashiro isn't man enough, as said by Chestnut, the rest are just Americanizing everything. Especially given how Yash responds to "okama" "homo" "hentai" that Misumi said to him on their first meeting, it is important to see the cultural specifics of these slurs and how the author uses them specifically, even "neko" gets translated to something differently at times....

It was a compromise so that Misumi could ease into his new role as head....now Yashiro runs a casino/ money laundering biz. Misumi's stepson Amou got Doumeki a bodyguard job with a separate group. He saved his boss' kid from getting kidnapped but the boss didn't want her getting attached to him so he gave him an errand...
There is this nobody named Kido, placed as a pawn on the chessboard by a fujoshi goddess.
Kido had a car accident where he hit some key gang member in Doumeki's group. They want to know if it really was an accident. Kido owes Yashie's casino money..he put some big ass exotic bird up for collateral and he used to have ties to Ryuuzaki's now disbanded group. (Ryuu used to bang Yoshie when he was a teen. He nearly died in the last plot line and he is in jail rn.)
Rn they've caught kido's stepbro hoping to find him.

There was so much to be read in between the lines in this chapter, huh? Yoneda Kou is such a masterful writer I can't help losing myself in the fabric of her story.
I like the symmetry between how Yashiro talked to the boss (Tsunakawa) and that boss' kid when he referred to Doumeki as a numbskull and then said it's a really smart and perceptive person when she asked what that meant. I think it's funny how the kid automatically knew he was lying. Then fast forward to when he and the other kumichou meet. Then given all the half truths he gave the guy, it makes me wonder if the kumichou could also tell Yashiro wasn't being 100% truthful? I'll come back to that in a second... Either way, the guy could determine just from this that Yashiro was close enough to Misumi that he knew a lot of personal details and also that Misumi was more than just partial to Yashiro or Amou, for that matter. He could also confirm that Doumeki is a good guy--not just because he saved his daughter or even Yashiro but because he did a roundabout service for Misumi to the extent that Amou stepped in to find him a place... and it's just a matter of time before he asks Doumeki to exchange sake cups... Though I gotta wonder, did Tsunakawa know the rumor that Yashiro fires any of his people who fall in love with him and put two and two together about Doumeki and Yashiro's relationship? I don't know but if he can read people as well as Misumi, I wouldn't put it past him.
Meanwhile, did you see Doumeki's face when Yashiro talked about their past? He was visibly shook when Yashiro said that his saving his life caused him grief. It made me think of that scene so many chapters ago (just before Hirata died) when Yashiro pulled off Domeki's bandage and said this was what it felt like for Yashiro to fall in love--like a painful, burning, bleeding wound. And now he says that he felt grief because Doumeki saved his life and Doumeki's face burst into an expression of realization. Not to mention the lie that Yashiro lost his memories was completely obliterated.

Okay, back to Tsuna-kawa. He pointedly asked Yashiro which of these statements did he agree with: "People change" or "people can change" Since it was a boolean choice, I feel like that was some kind of cypher he was using to make a determination on Yashiro's honesty, especially after Yashiro referred to Doumeki as 'a brat, no a baby who somehow seems to have transformed into a praiseworthy yakuza in both body and soul'. Does he really think Doumeki changed so much? Sure, earlier Yashiro said people change, the ones who don't are dead--but he really meant people adapt. You can adapt to a situation with out the core of your personality--who you really are--changing. No, Yashiro knows Doumeki hasn't changed...he's still saving damsels in distress after all--isn't that part of why Yashiro fell in love with him in the first place? Then, after only giving Yashiro those two choices, it's funny that Tsunakawa said he thinks people never really change and he thought Yashiro would say that on his own. These damn numbskulls.
Anyway, I look forward to seeing what observations Tsunakawa makes of Doumeki and Yashiro while the latter is staying at his home. I wouldn't be surprised if he was able to tap Nanahara for more intel on the sly.

I read up till Chapter 29 so far so I'm gonna give a half-assed summary from what I can remember lol

The karma that the uke is "suffering" in this timeline is from what the Past Emperor did in reaction to him

In the past, the uke would be openly defiant towards how psychotically possessive the Emperor is.
Eg. He cut his hair because the emperor mentioned how much he loves his hair and it belongs to him, which lead the Emperor killing all the maids who is supposed to take care of the uke

He starts shooting birds that they released, telling the uke that he can never fly away, wherever he runs off, he'll definitely capture him

When the uke tried to run away, the emperor broke his legs saying that it's his.

He kills off his consorts etcetc

Also there's this wine that the Emperor would give the uke, which causes him to "go into heat"(idk how to describe but you know lolol)
Although it is also like a poison, the emperor still forces the uke to drink it every night because that's the only time the uke would say that he loves the emperor

Eventually the uke gets addicted to it, and goes crazy trying to get everyone to have sex with him which causes the Emperor to go into another massacre

The Emperor realises how addicted the uke is to this "poison" and how insane he became and cried

Later on, the uke commits suicide, and the emperor says that line at the beginning where he will find him no matter what

The emperor also just kills anyone and everyone to gather up the bad karma points so that he'll be rebirthed to find the uke again

In the current timeline,

The Emperor ain't no saint either. He still has psychotic tendencies and won't hesitate to kill (duh) consciously but the uke will try and save them

The Green guy knows about the past because of records that he read before and he talks to the uke, to tell him to just go along with it, thinking that the seme would kill the uke the next day like he did the women

But the uke didn't want to have anything to do with the seme and just escapes but fails. The seme was surprised to know that the uke knows about using that path to escape.

Later on, someone that tries to assassinate the Uke by poisoning him which causes the seme to go insane and orders for the people responsible for taking care of the uke to be executed.

This is a repeat of what happened in the previous lifetime, when the uke cut his hair and his attendants got executed so he runs to the seme and offers up his hair. Saying that all of his hair, he'll give to the seme. It will belong to the seme

The seme thinks that it's funny that the uke thinks that his hair is special but he spares them

He dismisses that green guy knowing that he was the instigator.

Later on, the crown prince would be talked into pulling the uke's hair by a bitch(the consort) and the uke's attendant would try and stop the crown prince but the bitch is all like "how dare you touch the crown prince blahblah" and was going to punish him, but the uke protects her by saying that his hair belongs to the seme, he doesn't have long to live anyways, and is not trying to win the seme's affections. He just doesn't want to see anyone get hurt or die because of him. The bitch retreats and says that she'll verify it herself

The crown prince (he's 5) presents the hair he pulled off to the seme who chokes that kid and asked him who taught him to do that. He also guessed as much its that bitch cuz she tried to poison him previously. He asks his subordinates to find a big and fierce wild dog. The crown prince tells the seme that he just wanted to present him a gift cuz he heard that it's very precious to the seme and the seme asks him who told him that it's precious. The kid says that the uke told him
The seme affirms that answer saying that it is indeed very precious

The seme visits the uke, and when the seme mentions about his hair, the uke freaks out thinking he chopped off the kid's head. The seme said that when he let off the people previously because the uke begged him he was already seen as a joke

He tries to kiss the uke which the uke rejects. The seme tells the uke to protect his hair because it belongs to him

Then he tells the uke that he ordered for a wild dog to be released into the back Palace and see if the people there will turn into dog food the next day

The uke panics and tell him to not do it. The seme asks him, what he'll offer him in return this time. He asks for his legs, which the uke has a flashback when the seme breaks his leg because it's his. The uke panics, and the seme tells him to properly cherish them, because it belongs to him.
The uke refuses to believe that the seme knows what cherishing means and that this is all a front and its a lie.

The dogs gets along with the crown prince and the crown prince gives the uke sweets that promotes hair growth as thanks lol

The uke reacts adversely because he has some sort of trauma to that wine
After drinking it, the uke tries to fight off the seme and he says that he knows what that "wine" is. The uke takes the shard (from the shattered wine bottle) and cuts himself. The seme stops him and tells him if he really hates him, just use that shard and cut the seme instead.
The uke "goes into heat" and the seme starts having pieces of memory rush into his head. He doesn't know that it's his memories yet but he stops and covers up the uke and leaves.

The green guy then gives the seme the record book and tells him about it. The seme realises that it's his memories is devastated. Because all the atrocities that he had committed, he is repeating them now. (so the uke will hate him) But the green guy tell him that the situation is still salvageable because he's not exactly like the past king.

it goes into flashback while the uke is suffering miserably from that wine poison

I got the books from Japan last week. The extras add more details to the stories so I will sum it up below

Extra 1:

During the school’s sports festival, Ayame caught Shuu and made him go with him, saying “there’s only you”. Apparently Ayame was taking part in the “borrowing game” (during which participants randomly choose a “hint” or “description” and need to find someone who matches the hint on school ground, “borrow”” that person to return together). Kaede found a paper Ayame dropped that said “Glasses”, which is why Ayame chose Shuu.

Back to present, Ayame and Shuu are caught in the rain after work. They get on a taxi together, when Shuu asks why Ayame picked him that time. There were others also wearing glasses. After pausing a bit, Ayame replied that Shuu’s thick glasses stood out a lot so that’s that. Truth is, the hint Ayame picked up said “The person you like”. He tore it into pieces and got another hint. Later on, while running he abruptly turned back to look at Shuu being out of breath behind and thought, but there has always been only you. (GOD DAMN SOMEONE KILL ME #SOB)

Extra 2:

Shuu talked to Kaede about how Ayame has gotten back his omega pheromone insensitivity (the only time he recognised and reacted to Shuu’s pheromone was in chapter 6). Kaede said there’s no such thing as pheromone insensitivity. The books also come with small extra after each chapter. Like after chapter 4 we learn that the reason why Ayame is attached to Mamu-chan is because one time Shuu chose Mamu-chan. Many days later Ayame was bothered as to why Mamu-chan is what Shuu wants he ended up buying it home himself lol.

There’re also short extras on the inner cover of both books. Their son Sumire appears on the inner sleeves of second book. It’s explained that Shuu chose to quit his job after having Sumire. He got the personality from Ayame and hair colours from Shuu.
