I’m only on ch 16 but sohee’s (I think that was her name) character gave me whiplash disliked her at first for her “I’ve always wanted a gay friend” comment then we find out she’s a lesbian and I was like oh she just wants more lgbtq+ friends okay valid just sounded weird i guess...Then she’s creepily gathering info on him and stalking him outside his job.,,.help what is going onnnn
I like the dynamic between the two main characters and all but I can’t get past reo it really bothered me how everyone acted like he wasn’t a r@pist and brushed it off as a joke...does reo show up a lot throughout this story can someone give me a heads up so I know
He has his own chapter
he is a rapist but like a satirical version of one. you know how in so many mangas there’s always the dude who’s ultra possessive and rapey but it’s brushed aside because he “loves” the main character? well here it’s the same but the author made it clear that it’s completely unforgivable and horrible and there’s no real way to justify it. maybe understanding this angle will make it easier for you to read?? like it’s very obvious that reo the rapist will never be romantically involved with kazuya and have a redemption arc in that sense
Yes, that's totally a satirical version of those kind of romance with possessive guys which everyone finds cute "because he's in love", as @liszts said.
I think even the main characters reactions are a critic of some reactions you can get in real life, like Katsuya who's like "Eh but you liked it nah?" or even Kusuya who refuse to make a real big deal out of it.
Harada is an author who cleverly (but still cringy af) talks about hard subjects like rape, abusive or illegal relationships, mental abuse, etc. If you cannot bear it I suggest you to avoid her Manga ^^'
Thank you!! I was worried he would have a redemption arc ngl or something like that...I didn’t even think of it being satire tho no wonder their reactions felt so weird. Thanks for the clarification I think I’ll see this to the end
