I'll be real and say that.........................................................................................................................................

I don't really like Teasung (▰˘◡˘▰). I really didn't like his demeanor during sex as it felt as though he was the only one getting something out of it, like how he's so rough with Heabom and never seems to have an initial thought of "Hey....maybe I should listen to my partner setting a clear boundary before I do anything". I don't necessarily like this because it feels as if when he actually stops and thinks about it and feels bad, the narrative has to immediately do some kinda of mental gymnastics by having Heabom say "it's okay" despite the implications of doing said act to remove any guilt of him constantly doing things he was explicitly asked.......
Anyways....rant over (=・ω・=)
I feel like there should be a discussion surrounding pearl boy and depictions of SA. For one, I understand that these characters work for the Yakuza and are obviously not suppose to be the pinnacle of morally good but I feel that you can have tension or a character doing bad things without resorting to SA or confinement.
I have read Pearl boy in it's entirety and can say that I'm conflicted with how this author represents trafficking and r*pe. In the original story it tries to show how horrified and hopeless Jooha feels around his situation but I always had a problem with how it often times mishandles the depictions of it, as it never really dives deep into the psychological aftermath of trauma of having Jooha trafficked.
At times I'm confused in whether the author wants me to feel for the character or simply be somehow feel aroused by it due to its angling and facial expressions.
At worst the depictions seems exploitative or at best it's there for shock value and therefore it feels unnecessary to even have SA scenes, the side story is no different and it feels like the scene with Yuta is there for mere shock value rather than have anything of substance to give in the story.
Idk I wanted to just air out my feelings around this chapter a bit ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭.
Tbh as someone who never finished pearl boy this side story is doing pretty well so far. Yuta seemed unhinged from chapter 1, and it's no surprise given him implied backstory. I don't think any of the scenes so far were for shock value cuz I was expecting this just seeing how he keeps calling him "san" even after being told he doesn't need to.
Obviously it's written with erotic intent cuz most people of the audience just don't care about the psychological stuff lol and want smut. It's kinda like the hentai metamorphosis, even though it was a horribly sad story with good story telling, it's clear as day that each scene was dragged out for its purpose of being a hentai.
