I actually don't mind the ML because he's originally supposed to be a villain so we can expect him to be stuck in his ways. The story however was definitely rushed with this war scene, it was very anticlimactic and the villains died too easily. There was no suspense or mystery. The villains were too one dimensional. The characters solved the problems too easily and quickly that they don't even feel like a problem in the first place if they have such a quick fix like MC just using his saint magic. These chapters could have been more indepth, suspenseful, dramatic, etc if they spent more time going into detail and dedicating more chapters to it. It feels like the manhua artist just wanted to hurry and finish! I think this manhua had potential but fell short.
Hard agree with everything here. What a shame because i really liked this manhua at the start! Its sucks too bcs the novel is basically untranslated (last time i checked like 50 or something chapters out of hundreds were in english) so we cant get a feel of what the original story pacing was like. It does feel rushed like the studio wants to wrap it all quickly. This manhua is the definition of wasted potential
You know the manga has good drama when the comments are full of people arguing lmao. Anyway the story was really good but if you're someone bothered by age gap or problematic yaoi tropes then you might not like it. If you're used to yaoi tropes and like drama then read it lol
