Holy shit, it's only been 11 chapters but I'm already in love with the story. Is it some genious writing that everyone should read? No, not really. Is it a fun, light-hearted read that perfectly combines elements from the two genres it talks about combining? Absolutely! I also love the take on our MC not being a genius (although it is implied she has some talent) and how the story so far empahises taking her time to train and do her best, but also reassuring her worries and anxities by encouraging her to fail (or well, telling her failing is okay and she'll still have her home and family even if sh does). Essentially touching on the unintended pressure she feels. I'm in love with everyone at Mount Hua who interact with MC and are part of her family, basically. I'd love to see more bonding with people, but as this story combines elements from classic rofan + martial arts + comedic elements, I'm not particularly expecting for it, as the pacing of these kinds of stories tends to be faster.

I don't care if there will be romance later, and I can tell this is more romance-focused, but I genuinely feel like this dwelves into the martial arts aspect of the world even if it doesn't show it to us how they tend to within the genre. It's refreshing! It definitely feels like a story out of care for stories from the different genres it combines, and I'm so here for it <33

I get this series isn't for everyone, but I'm definitely enjoying it.

Okay so for where my thoughts may come from, I'm really interested in most things in this world, and have fairly recently watched a bunch of videos on extinct animals and other past ages of earth way before humans came along. Anyway, them mentioning Suradel being the top of the food chain made me thing of what a lot of people likely think of when they hear that associated with the ocean - the megalodon, the giant shark that used to swim in earth's oceans. From it my thoughts went to another creature that is thought to likely have rivaled the megalodon, the livyatan - the leviathan whale. Aaaand because it looks somewhat similar to a sperm whale, that made me think of the albino sperm whale that was the inspiration for moby dick, mocha dick.

Either way, idk if this means anything, it's just where my thoughts went lol. If nothing else, at least some of y'all got some fun new info from this comment, I hope.

I'm enjoying this story so far, can't wait to learn the truth about soradel (I don't think my thoughts are accurate at all), and gods I want a reunion with the mage father ASAP (/TДT)/

I mean that makes sense tbh, like his hair is silver not like his moms but likes his dad!! maybe he is a different type of whale!! also I notice that so far mc is the only penguin beast that we know of!! maybe like the killer whales there pretty much an endanger animal!! or like they are thought of the have been extinct for a while now. I would love to see mc try to find out more about the penguin beast's cause she could have different traits or abilities that could harm her or those around her lol

I want them to bond and become friends, tired of women fighting each other in these stories over one man ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ I mean, especially here considering they're both creatives! Would love if the princess gave up and instead befriended the MC.

Bro I swear in all of my years of rofan reading I've only gotten 2nd ML syndrome twice, tell me why do I lowkey vibe with this one just from this one look at the end of the chapter??? Despite me knowing who is the true ML and filly supporting it??

    Ksksj August 23, 2024 8:12 am

Sigh me too…. I lowkey think its cause most of the manwha i read 1st ml mostly has black hair and red eyes

    littlewolf1022 August 29, 2024 2:57 pm

Yes same. I think in officially a flagpole since Im drawn to this 2nd ml who is clearly a redflag

shitcory August 19, 2024 6:54 pm

HAHA HE'S SO ADORABLE WHEN IT COMES TO HER I LOVE THEM

shitcory August 19, 2024 6:44 pm

We do get some hot smut scenes, but even after 20 chapters we don't get to see MC and priest fuck Σ( ̄□ ̄||) i'm patiently waiting...

shitcory August 12, 2024 10:03 pm

I love the concept, I love how the characters are written, I love how naturally MC is as himself in this world despite realising he was reborn when he was a kid and has little relevance to this life so it doesn't add any unnecessary flashbacka to our world (at least so far), and I absolutely adore the art style. It's a bit eh how they look closer to their mid/late 20s to early 30s with the art style when they're a decade younger from that, but otherwise, I adore it.

also catering to us sapphics as well by giving us beautiful, smart, AND strong women??? ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! I fell for the General lady (Kang Heeseo?) immediately please marry me
(Like ugh the Princess when she's an adult, le MC's mother the Empress... i love that she's allowed to look older but is still clearly a beauty.)

    Beau August 13, 2024 5:12 pm

It's not just the sapphics who love smart, strong, pretty female characters in BL. ;)
Good to hear that it's a well-written story with well-written characters.

Be excited, we'll be seeing some familiar faces next chapter

(Hint: not from this series <3)

I get people would be frustrated, especially those who have been reading this as the chapters get uploaded, but as someone who just binged 57 chapters - I think it was done well. Okay, I did grow a bit ???WHEN YOU GONNA TELL HER??? Ever since he said he would tell her after the whole thing with the siblings was sorted out, which I can understand may seem like it was dragged on, especially compared to the typical pacing of these stories and how quickly problems tend to get solved/arcs completed (and how this one had kind of a mix on bunch of them), especially at the beginning. In the end I don't mind it, I think it was done well considering how serious that merchant bastard's crimes were, as well as justifying our girl's revenge from her last life. It only makes me think that her second husband may be much worse to deal with, if this is how we dealth with the first of her two shitty husbands.

Honestly, this is one of those few series where I don't hate the ML hiding his identity from FL while he knows the truth and she doesn't. I think it's because of how the story/characters are written, it never felt like he was looking down on her and hiding his identity to use her, which is what a lot of stories who use this trope tend to do. It didn't feel patronizing, or making her look dumb for no reason but to make the ML somehow appear "cooler" - I also like how quickly his attitude started shifting, but it didn't feel unnatural, and again his suspicions in the beginning were definitely justified. It's like... despite deceiving her about his identity, otherwise he was quite sincere with her - most bastards with this trope aren't. Also I loved the element of angst with the idea of unattainable love, despite us readers knowing it'll be alright - now that was some good/fun drama I can get behind right there ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Ngl people who are calling FL dumb for not realising Hertz's true identity are wackk Σ( ̄□ ̄||) she was literally never given any reason to doubt his identity as something other than the Grand Duke's proxy/aide! You also can't assume hair colour and a similar sounding name to be giveaways (also we can't be sure if she remembered his hair colour just because we could see it in her memory), like sure yes they are to us because /we're reading a story/ and know the tropes, but if this was real life, there's no way y'all would be able to guess it correctly just from that, don't even try to kid yourself

All things considered, she is smart, and I believe it shows - it's not just the story saying she is. She has also been abused and used by others all her life, she will have lasting impacts from that, but that doesn't mean she's somehow an idiot for being anxious or focusing on things in front of her at the moment.

shitcory August 9, 2024 12:46 am

I get why y'all are frustrated, but I don't disagree with how this discussion is drawn. The idiot eldest brother won't get it unless it's explained to him word by word - it would seem just as insane if he were to immediately believe her without her going all this way, with how we've seen him characterised.

Would it be nice if the chapters were longer? Hell yes! Do I want that? No, not with a weekly upload schedule. Artists in the webtoon industry get abused all the time, often risk job-threatening injuries due to deadlines and demands from editors and the like (ie. injuring their hands and/or wrists, making them unable to draw for months - and often they're still forced to, worsening their injuries), and hell, death is included. I'd rather have a well-paced story (which this is so far) with shorter chapters than make the artist suffer. ( ̄∇ ̄")

I have noticed over the years that often slowburns/not as fast-paced stories, especially at the beginning 20-40 chapters, their comment sections seem to be flooded by complaints, only for those to make a complete switch after particular amount of chapters. So, I'm just going to assume it's the usual and my fellow lovers/enjoyers/appreciators of slowburn/slower paced stories just aren't bothered to comment and fight with others about views on these things (which is fair) , rather focusing on the story itself╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

You're free to disagree, I'm simply stating my opinion on this!

    FancyTrash August 9, 2024 2:03 pm

True I think that this would have gone differently if there was a sat down discussion, but at the same time, I think FL kinda realizes that it would be a waste of time to try and persuade someone who’s never really tried to side with her. She must also be pissed about everything since antagonist lady is playing victim and confides in the older brother about FL only for him to, “deal with her”. So he’s now technically a perpetrator, to which she possibly feels like she is above having to go out of her way to explain to him, since if he had been knowledgeable enough to try to understand, he would have done so earlier. Not only that, but her older brother also seems to blindly believe the antagonist lady, so that also could be why it’s a bit hard to rationalize some things to him unless done differently. I think they did dramatize this a bit tho lol, but I love it

    FancyTrash August 9, 2024 2:12 pm

On the side note, I agree with ur statement about pacing! It’s quite sad to see that some people aren’t willing to wait for a good story sometimes, and as much as they are eager to see the next part, there are also those who don’t have the patience for it. Some artist draw their entire webtoon by themselves, while others, with studios. Either way, burnout as an artist can become very difficult and stressful, and on top of that they know fans are anticipating their works which, in itself, is a ton of pressure. A lot of times, the stories I’ve seen have a pretty consistent schedule around 30 chps, and then it slows down from there. I, personally, don’t mind. Since I always jump around and know that if I’m reading a story that has just released, I’m committed to waiting it out.

Same. I feel like a lot of people who don't draw and/or don't know a lot of artists somehow can't comprehend just how much time and effort everything takes, and take this now standardized weekly schedule for granted. And/or they somehow feel entitled for that upload schedule, and if it changes, they demand for more.

I've had this opinion for a while, but if people want longer chapters while keeping the quality AND work safety of the artist or artists in mind, they need to realise a weekly upload schedule won't work for that. We should normalise that it's okay to not post weekly, I wish more comics could consider a biweekly schedule instead - you have space for slightly longer chapters and hopefully be able to space out one's work schedule better.

Another idea I've heard is that one could upload chapters weekly for some weeks, then have one week of not uploading, which I think would also work. Previously I've thought one week of "break" with every 4-6 weeks of upload is decent, but now I think that it should be one week of break per month with then 3 weeks of weekly uploads. This is because I know those artists will work during that break period anyways, like prepping for the next chapters, so giving more chances for breaks/mandating it so that they do have days where they don't work would be great. This would also likely shorten the times of season breaks (unless the season break is related to the artist's health - and I do think those breaks should still exist and give the artists some time off, but I feel like it could take off some of the pressure of how quickly they need to get back on working on a series)

I am glad that I've seen some comics use the method of uploading roughly 3 times a month, with things like "a new chapter every 2nd, 12th, and 22nd of the month". But yeah, as a whole, I know the whole industry needs to change. People simply don't view being an artist as a real job and a lot of them don't respect where exactly their entertainment is coming from (just look at all the AI bros out there claiming to make original art using AI, completely dismissing the artists and whose works even made it possible for the AI to do anything.)
