There was a flashback of how she scared to be alone during night because of something that has happened and it’s why he asked his friend to look over her while he’s studying abroad. I saw that aspect of the story as wholesome.
See how he didn’t have sex with her in that drunken state? Very mindful, very considerate, very green flag like. We like a man who can restrain himself.
