This story is the epitome of “I got reincarnated and I’m making it everyone’s problem now”
This gets a bit convoluted, so bear with me.
Charlotte is a reincarnator. She used to be an ugly high school girl who used manga and otome games as wish-fulfillment. When she regained her memories, she realized this was the world of a game she'd played and she was the protagonist. She has a blessing that lets her implant traumatic memories into people (more on that later). The best result in the game is obviously marrying the prince, so that's what she sets out to do. It seemed their engagement was in the bag, but then the prince got engaged to the princess of another country. I think he was planning to keep Charlotte as a mistress, but ML, who was part of the princess' delegation, advised it would be a slap in the face for the princess' country and Charlotte's plans fell through.
Charlotte basically went nuts and ended up under house arrest out in the boonies. She blamed ML for ruining everything and decided she was going to 1 ger the prince back and 2 make ML feel the pain of losing the one he loves. She figures there must be someone with a blessing that can time travel and eventually finds someone who can send your memories to your past self. She convinces the user to send hers back so she can "regain her lost love."
Now we're in timeline 2. Charlotte has her memories of timeline 1 and first order of business is revenge on ML. She knows FL became his wife later on, so she instead arranges for FL to be married off to a creepy scumbag. Said scumbag ends up stabbing FL to death before ML is able to change the situation, and it hits him hard. ML travels to the other country in princess' entourage and is tasked with investigating the prince's surroundings to deal with any problematic elements (the assassination rumors are actually true lol). Turns out the prince isn't actually in love with Charlotte and is just using her, so he's perfectly happy to drop her like a sack of potatoes.
While she's being carted out, she sees ML standing by and shrieks about how he's ruined everything again, even after she separated him from his love and left him broken. ML isn't an idiot and realizes that Charlotte is responsible for FL's death and is also living a second life somehow. So he also locates the memory-transfer user and...
Timeline 3! Which is actually the current timeline. For reference, ML only has memories of timeline 2, and Charlotte only has memories of timeline 1. Yeaaah, told you it was convoluted. Anyway. Charlotte's goal is still revenge against ML and ML is now actively working to thwart her schemes. Now, about Charlotte's blessing. It only works on men and she's been using it to implant traumatic memories, then empathizing with/comforting her victims so they think she's "saved" them. She also starts spreading nasty rumors about FL so men will think she sleeps around.
ML keeps sabotaging Charlotte, so she decides to get herself canonized as a saint by doing what I just said to a lot of clergymen, claiming her blessing lets her see and alleviate a person's greatest worries. She actually uses it on ML at one point, implanting two traumatic memories (one where his family pushed him out to join the church b/c they didn't care about him and one where FL cheated on him) that he figures out are fake pretty quickly. He slowly increases his allies by contacting the families of those Charlotte's effected and nudging them toward comparing their memories with the victims' fake ones. Once a victim realizes the memory is fake, he's able to snap out of it. Charlotte's canonization falls through and she's sent to an all-women's convent.
Also, blessings apparently don't work on loved ones - hence why FL never hears anything around ML. And her blessing isn't just hearing sappy love poems. By touching someone, she can hear their strongest emotions.
Checked out the raws, so here's some spoilers.
Only 4 years have passed in the other world, vs 15 on earth. ML actually didn't know MC had been killed (I guess getting transported back to earth removed all traces? idk) and assumed he'd just fled. He's apparently been searching for MC this whole time.
MC suspected ML might have been the one who killed him, but nope. ML IS pretty sus, though. He recognizes MC right off the bat and closes the distance between them insanely fast (forcing lots of kisses on him, hugging/holding onto him all the time, a random masturbation session in a closed-off library room with the typical "don't worry, I won't put it in yet but you're just so cute it's hard not to lose control" yaoi line). ML apparently liked MC even back when MC was 13??? There's this dream/flashback where young MC was getting his hair dried just out of the bath (so, nearly naked) and present MC notices that ML was looking at him like a predator with prey... so, um, yeah...
They skipped some pretty important stuff that should have happened before the cooking competition: one that inspired what MC makes and one that helps him technique-wise. I really don't see how this is going to work, unless they stick in some flashbacks while he's cooking or something...
Why'd they cut nearly all of his fight against the soldiers in ch36? It was so cool in the novel!
About the two untranslated bits of dialogue in ch8:
グレンほどでわないけど = not as many as Glen, though
俺の方がランク上なのに... = even though I'm a higher rank...
