Well I think that in a way that’s how the author shows blondie’s love for Kamin. Him loving Kamin’s smell and craving to smell his scent is what tells us that he love shim or idk maybe not lol
if he wanted to use him for his smell, wouldn't he just have done that from the beginning??? then there would be no need to help him open up about his insecurities or his feelings or anything like that ?? he coulda just smelled the boy and pretended like he didn't notice anything
If I recall, in the beginning, he said he didn't like the smell? Also the reason he got the guy to open up, was 4-part;
1. He just wanted to nab the guy who sneaked kissed him.
2. The culprit had the nerve to lie, and we all know now about how much he hates that.
3. His insecurities and lies born from them made him smell bad, (enough so that he could actually be hospitalised from the smell) so he needed to clear them out and make the main emotion the love for him.
4. The straightforward kinda guy he is he couldn't accept that the person seemed to truly like him but at the same time reject him (i.e. keep him out of the boundary).
Also since his life heavily centres around his sense of smell, then it is only natural that his like of a person also is affected by it. After all if he is to be with someone then they must smell decent majority of the time + truly like him. I recall there was something mentioned about the not so nice smell from prior confessions from other girls for some reason or the other.
