There's a wide range of 'twisted villains' in disney that causes a major turmoil for the plot to have a plot twist.
From what I understand (and remember) Elzay got reincarnated into a novel she read. There's 2 books on it, but she has only ever read the first book that consists of Aseph's past and how he lost to the prince that caused him to adopt the dark side. And that Elzay was never a character in the novel she read.
However, in the unexpected unraveling twist in around chapter 80 (Aseph fights demon guy), apparently Elzay did exist in the novel??
My theory is that they have been repeating lives, but Elzay is the center. So whenever she gets thrown back into the novel world, it'll re-do the sequence of their "first life" agenda, suggesting they've been redoing this life for many times.
-Now my theory is that Elzay has always loved Aseph, but he doesn't always reciprocate that feeling. Maybe because she never resonates with him. So to make Elzay be more sympathetic and charismatic towards Aseph, the god of the novel world makes sure Elzay knows about the backstory ALL THE WHILE removing any memories she has when she reincarnates out of the book? It seems very twisted.
I'll rate this a 4/10
1. I kinda liked the relationship buildup, where Aseph wants to fool Elzay but ends up falling for her, though I wish they could've expanded on it more because I don't get why he'd fall for her.
—an approach that I liked is the ML and FL from Dr Elise, Elise had something to prove to ML to make him change his perspective about her.
2. The climax is underwhelming.
— severe lack of POV from the duke and the demon, there's not enough reason for them to team up against the leads
— the demon is pathetic for a villain. His main goal or purpose is to make people blessed with the god's partner thing to suffer like...did u not get one? Is bro lonely? Is that why bro makes couples suffer? Lonely ahh
— from Elzay's perspectives and opinion about the novel she read, it seems like Aseph and the prince would have nothing to do with each other. I find it hard to believe they're friends.
3. I do like some of the plot twist
— Elzay mentions that the duke (her father) was the one in charge of the death of Aseph's parents (or in this case, Elisa's father ; because Elzay isn't in the novel she read), and this is one of the reasons that made Aseph hate Elisa in the novel. However, in this version, her father the duke was sent to retrieve Aseph's mother, but his mother wanted the duke to set the house on fire (this is my understanding of the situation).
— The duke didn't know Aseph's mother, he just thought she looked awful lot like his late wife (I think is the prince's mother).
— That there COULD be different storylines. MAYBE the 'god' or author, or whoever that controls the world, manipulates the world. Though I think this part is poorly written.
4. Romance, where?
— Elisa and the prince's relationship was just, out of the blue. At least Aseph and Elzay had a build up.
5. The crest
— in the end, Aseph is rewarded the same crest given to Elzay. However, does that mean Elzay was fated to never have a fated partner if Aseph went to the dark side? Does that mean Elzay x Death was canon if Aseph didn't love her enough to sacrifice himself against the bad guy?
6. Poor horse. For that I give -1
I'm too lazy to go back and analyze the 70 chapters here's the questions :
1. Did Lariette ever specify the "3 months" when she started her contractual relationship with Asrahan (aka, does he know abt the time period)
2. Does Lariette question if Asharan loves her, or does she think he just sees her as a healer/lusts over her like how she lusted over him the first time they met? + Does Lariette feel insecure about love, seeing how she grew up?
3. Why does Doha seem overly infatuated with her? Is it because their magic power bonds/works well together? + Did he heal her illness?
4. Would Lariette have returned to Asharan if it weren't for the enemies searching for her?
5. For novel readers, how long does it take for Asrahan to find and reunite with Lariette?
6. Despite the spoiler in Chapter 1, I was sure Lariette would've told Asharan about the illness. Why didn't she?
7. Why is Asharan so hot?
1. Did Lariette ever specify the "3 months" when she started her contractual relationship with Asrahan (aka, does he know abt the time period)
Yes although it was only mentioned once in passing and I’m pretty sure the author made a side note saying that Asrahan was not listening when she said it aka in a daze by her proposal/beauty and did not hear her
2. Does Lariette question if Asharan loves her, or does she think he just sees her as a healer/lusts over her like how she lusted over him the first time they met? + Does Lariette feel insecure about love, seeing how she grew up?
Yea!! She is constantly questioning whether or not Asrahan realizes the time period is up and before she gets seriously wounded she refers to herself as his temporary love. She has not questioned if he only wants her for her body because Asrahan was veyy try hesitant to touch her in the beginning stages of their relationship !! But you’re right her sense of love is difficult to understand and she has a hard time understanding/recognizing love !!
3. Why does Doha seem overly infatuated with her? Is it because their magic power bonds/works well together? + Did he heal her illness?
Doha is over infatuated with her because she is the best version on his mother. Doha has constantly lived in a world where he has to look over his shoulder and he couldn’t even feel safe with his mother as she sold him away to the temple for cash. Once in the temple he began to compete with other priests over divine power and the such. Currently there is a power struggle in the temple as Doha has proved himself capable to be the high priest but he is constantly at odds with the other priests in power which lead him to have many enemies among the upper class and nobility. He finds a sense of security with Lariette although she reminds him of his mother, she reminds him of the best parts/the ideal version of his mother. A mother who loved him, called his name lovingly, fought for him, and even “repay’s” him as seen in the last episode all things he is unfamiliar with but very grateful and happy for.
4. Would Lariette have returned to Asharan if it weren't for the enemies searching for her?
Yes!! She was on her way to return to Asharan but unfortunately there were some of her father’s lackies at all the entrances that lead towards his home (how was this allowed idk???) so instead she decides to go into hiding (for what reason idkkkk???) but she did intend to go back to him!!
5. For novel readers, how long does it take for Asrahan to find and reunite with Lariette?
:(
6. Despite the spoiler in Chapter 1, I was sure Lariette would've told Asharan about the illness. Why didn't she?
Really good question! I don’t have a definitive answer but my idea is that she’s too embarrassed. She doesn’t want the world or anyone close to her to know that she is sick in such a deadly manner because they will treat her differently she wanted to hide it until the very la at minute and die peacefully as the Larriette that they loved and not the sickly pitiful one that they talked to just because they felt sorry for her.
7. Why is Asharan so hot?
I have no clue I wonder that everyday myself
Reading back I realized I hadn’t answered one of your questions, YES Doha cured her it said in the beginning that only someone like the pope/high priest can heal her completely and it would take a long period of time. And that’s exactly what Doha did he is a pope candidate and he healed her over a long period of time. i don’t know why she didnt just take advantage of Asrahan’s position and ask for him to have a high priest heal her buuuttt wwhatever.
I don't think it was her Dad's lackies, he's already been executed, her brother is dead, & that house has fallen. I'm pretty sure it's her ex fiance's people. He wants to cut off her arms for the way she rejected him, & because she's the reason Asrahan cut his wrist/arm off. He's trying to get revenge & with her family house fallen, & Duke Kandal & his knights away at war he thinks she's unprotected and he'll be able to get his revenge easily & quickly. He probably is gonna try to claim she's technically still his fiance & he has the "right" to punish her & since her dad & brother are both dead there is no one to truly dispute that.
From the looks of it, the story is going to build up "new" relationships first and then when the relationship with Karl is established again, the woman who made FL break up with him will appear and do the same process and won't believe she lost her memory. But that would probably be the point where she finally has all her memory back.
This is just a prediction
Exclude the novel readers, what do y'all think will lead to Sion being fawned over Lila in the oneshot chapter?
I think it's a sneak peak in the future when fl has to decide whether to marry that slave hater, and it's difficult for her to reject the proposal bc of his family's influence. Sion was about 10 years old? when slave hater made the proposal and 5 years later (aka when slave hater expects fl's response) sion wouldn't have awakened his powers yet so he has no influence. I also imagine that panel in the oneshot is when fl learns of his feelings maybe? bc I think I remember her blushing a little. This is just my theory based off the current chapters so far bc I don't have much
That's fine, I'm asking for theories! Lol
That's similar to what I was thinking, but doesn't Sion technically hv strength now? He's been training with the knight
Yeah he's strong but his powers hasn't awaken, he has strength but not "influence". He would be just a strong knight but that's it, a commoner knight wouldn't be able to stand against a noble family that has close ties with the cherished empress. Actually I'm not sure if escort is even the same as a knight? since he never went through knightage
Ok, this one is kind of a dark theory, but I was thinking that Lila may die again (or even multiple times) in front of Sion. This would traumatize him even more seeing her die when he just started realizing his feelings for her and gaining his humanity back. Hence, that one panel in the oneshot where he tells her not to die. Obviously I would still hate too see him go through this and for my girl to die again but with the way the story was going and how dark it was in the beginning I wouldn’t be suprised if it went this route! Especially because I get the feeling she’s gonna die again, which spooks me (the freaking timeline at the end always makes me feel like she’s gonna die). But, again, just a theory.
That actually make sense! I mean, how else could the plot make Sion cry for her like that? I've got to say, this would become one of my fav if it includes that angst lol. But after reading your theory, I wonder how much is the limit :v cuz she can't just keep going back in time everytime she dies, what if she successfully becomes 90yo but then regresses back to a horrid time in her life. I'm guessing the limit is 10 times
Omg yessss, I love this manhwa because it’s so interesting and new. It refreshing to get a plot that makes you want to theorize what’s going to happen next. I wonder if you’re right with the limit
