I find this story cliche, prolly because of the red flag x innocent babi who is confused of everything. However, despite of the old-way dynamic under this genre, it still leaves me a good impression; because their dynamic in this story is not really (that) similar to other plotline under this genre within— the same dynamic. All tho we could identify some similarity in plotline with the same dynamic, like, in the first few chapter, with the dub-con, where they had sex while ML is drunk; the MC's desire for the ML. These plotlines relays all stories under this genre.
The thing that still leaves me a good impression regardless of the similar plotlines is the subtleness of the toxicity. We all know, one thing to spice up the plot of a story is the addendum of character(s) who feels like they grow another head— and this story meets that. But it was not visible like the other stories we are fund of, this one is shown subtly; instead of going to the full burst and insanity life choices a seme would've done; the way the MC made decisions we're still consciously, we could sense the desire, but can differentiate that the part of his desire is already admiration. Hence why, the MC may be amicable, his choices and fondness (or maybe just a good treatment) to the ML makes up for that.
Overall, the blandness and a top of portioned toxicity makes this story a good read (for me), who seeks for a cute dynamic with a slight treacherous plot. (づ￣ ³￣)づ I just hope the progress of their relationship doesn't go to the extinct of insanity because i'm tired of that kind of plotline being romanticized as if it was the most normal thing. (●￣(ｴ)￣●)
