I agree, silon's partner was probably jun's father (or maybe even older brother? In chapter 11 they show 2 photos at the funeral and he says he lost his "family" not parents and in chapter 2 jun says he wonders if his "mom saw his corpse" so some other family member seems to have died). Silon is 15 years older than Jun. Silon says he "looks similar" in chapter 3. It all tracks. This story is very interesting and I'm excited to learn more.
I really hope I'm wrong but....anybody else getting a weird vibe from jungwoo towards junghyuk?
The warning bells immediately sounded for me and I tried to ignore it but there's just something off!! And it's only gotten iffier as everything's progressed. It seems like the whole story is setting up the csa both minjae and jungwoo went through as the "big secret" but I'm wondering if that's not the only massive secret they're all keeping.
Also do you mind sharing what happened in the raws? I'm super curious now.
Yes every interaction between these two is weird. Mmh I know Minjae wa sa but idk about jungwoo ? And about the raw; we got to see the 2 older brothers in the past, when they were teenagers I think, they seemed very close and Minjae was hiding and listening to their conversation, idk what they were saying though, don’t speak korean here is the link if you want to see: https://newtoki323.com/webtoon/35641821/또Lie-36화?toon=BL%2FGL&spage=1
I know a lot of people are annoyed that he hasn't gone to a shaman yet, but it's understandable. He feels at fault and guilty because of their argument right before his ex died (and the arguments that led up to that last one). He still seems to have love for his ex, despite the bad things we've seen so far and they spent most of their lives together so it's completely understandable that he would be reluctant to exorcise the "ex's" ghost. I also think he seems to feel like he deserves this "punishment," which adds another layer to his reluctance.
For anyone who's seen the raws, did the cat thing happen before or after jihwan choked his schoolmate?
Totally, makes Jihwan more sinister because he actually cared about the cat, and felt identified with it.
I think it was too triggering. The author got many negative comments in that specific chapter in the official Korean site. I think they forgot to put the warning at the beginning so it was edited days later. Not sure if they removed the cat part too after the negative comments in the Korean version. But the unofficial / illegal raws have still that part.
Ya the comments I previously saw mentioning something being done to the cat surprised me because jihwan had been feeding and caring for it. If i remember correctly he seemed to enjoy it too. I'm honestly kinda shocked by this. I had been thinking his personality issues stemmed from growing up in such an abusive environment and experiencing a lot of trauma. And I could somewhat understand him acting out against his schoolmate like that because his mother literally did it to him and he was young, confused, and hadn't been taught right from wrong correctly. Killing a cat on the other hand..... different story. I really hadn't been putting much stock in the whole psychopath thing but killing small animals in childhood is often a calling card. This could be a case of the creator being unfamiliar with these psychological disorders/not doing enough research, but there had been glimpses of jihwan having what looked like empathy or care for sooyoung throughout so I'm finding this very surprising and disappointing. It also makes me scared for soo young. I don't want him to suffer any more than he already has.
Should I save this to read on my birthday?
Sure, it's a sweet story and the theme is around a birthday wish/promise, so it fits the theme.
