Does he really deserve better?
He had a relationship with someone who treasured him and Hyungdo didn’t feel comfortable with that. Even now he doesn’t regret that choice and he doesn’t feel guilty about it. I’m not saying he did a bad thing, it’s really his choice to decide who he wants to be with but it seems the lovey dovey relationships aren’t to his liking so he found someone to his liking, the only problem is : that person doesnt love him back. And that’s pretty normal in normal life, and normally you would try to find someone else but it’s a yaoi so MC is like lost in love.
Considering he himself ran away from someone who loved him dearly, it’s not a big deal that his love interest isn’t interested in a relationship.

Spoiler...in the raws it's actually jerky he used to eat he just dosnt remember...he chose to eat the jerky and wore the collar for a long damn time and just forgot lmao.so it was never about the car
