... I know you're asking for shounen-ai but those descriptions have an uncanny resemblance to an otome game called 7'Scarlet.
A girl and her childhood friend goes to a rural town in order to look for her brother who disappeared about a year ago. Things seem fine at first but there's something up with the village they're visiting. A lot of the guys you can romance are shrouded in mystery. There's also seems to be a killer on the loose. You sorta investigate as you progress your chosen route (solving it depends on which guy you pick). SERIOUSLY.
i don't think i know a BL story like that (HAHA SORRY I ALWAYS SKIP CREEPY STORIES) but i know this amazing manga where a novelist came back to his hometown and experienced a lot of supernatural things (like getting chased my monsters) and eventually found out that he's engaged to a god

I'm reading this one too and it's such a good manga~ It's not really creepy but the countryside vibes in it are exacly what im looking for. Also, the art is beautiful.
