First of all, I'm only posting this because I know how frustrating it is to wait for updates. If you don't want spoilers, don't read this.
So out of the rape scenes so far, I think the rape scene in Chapter 44 is the most gruesome so far. There was so much BLOOD. Haeyoung tore Haewon's hole REALLY BADLY. It was so painful to read. Korean readers are now calling this work "misery porn" because literally. There's no better term to describe it.
Anyway, it starts off with Haeyoung raping Haewon yet again, and Haewon begs him to stop. He says something like, "Please, Haeyoung, we're friends. We've been friends for years. Please don't do this. I'll be friends with Heesung (the guy who looks like Haeown) if you want. I'll treat him well. Please just stop."
And of course Haeyoung interprets it differently. He tells Haewon that they're no longer friends, because friends don't have sex, and then he asks Haewon why would he want to be friends with Heesung when they're vastly different from each other. He says Haewon is a slur while Heesung is not.
Haewon spirals even more at the realization that Haeyoung doesn't consider him as a friend anymore, while wondering how his life would have been if he hadn't been born poor with an alcoholic and violent father. And then Heesung knocks on the bathroom door, and Haeyoung enjoys embarassing Haewon while still raping him.
Again, it truly is misery porn. For those who have been wanting to drop this story, this might be the time to drop it. It's only gonna get worse from here according to those who read the novel. Plus, Haeyoung won't even be paying for any of his evil deeds. There will be no satisfying ending.

Him doing self-harm is his way to repay what he had done to Haewon. He is willing to hurt himself to feel the pain if it makes Haewon happy. This novel is famous for its theme of suffering, of course there are also those who are satisfied with the ending if they like genres like dark romance or psychology in the first place. It's obviously not sugar or rainbow from beginning (except the side story).

Apologies for the very late reply. I don't know much because I haven't read the novel, but according to those who did read the novel, it will only keep getting worse from here and Haeyoung will only stop the torture and humiliation once Haewon commits suicide. Haewon was able to survive, and it was Haeyoung's "wake up call", because he realized hurting Haewon was not "effective" in making Haewon stay.
So Haeyoung "changes tactics" and starts treating Haewon the best way he can so he doesn't lose him again. There wasn't really any "epiphany" where the three MLs realize their wrongdoings. And basically it's obvious Haeyoung has A LOT of screws loose in his brain. None of them have a redemption arc. The webtoon/manhwa MIGHT end differently, but I personally doubt it.

So I tried to analyze what exactly it is about this manhwa that makes me want to rip my hair out of my head so much, and I realized it's because the ML/seme gets absolutely NO FLAK for being a piece of trash.
He talks like a piece of trash, he acts like a piece of trash, and he treats Noah/Yejun terribly. And what does he get in return? Yejun doesn't even give him a hard time, he just goes with whatever the seme wants, and his sister even pulls the "he had a rough childhood" narrative our of her ass just to make Yejun and us readers sympathize with him. As if that's any excuse to be a prick with the emotional intelligence of a celery.
When you write a character with the most vile personality you could think of, and you make everyone in the story tolerate him and he doesn't get any punishment/suffering for it, what do you think is the message you're giving off to the readers? That assholes will be assholes and there's nothing we can do about it? There's a reason why they're like that, so they don't need for them to change? How odd.
Just noticed only korean manhwa authors seem to write stories like this. Let a chinese manhwa author handle this story and the ML/seme will be suffering and chasing for 100+ chapters.

Like I know we're only a few chapters in, but his sister lowkey defending him for the way he's acting really left a bitter taste in my mouth. I know a lot of stories with toxic MLs/semes, but atleast the people around that seme know and admit he's toxic/trash (ex. Jinx, Intoxicated Love, Sissy, Mated to the Ruthless Alpha, etc). Anyway, just an observation.

I think the message here is alpha /omega dynamics the sickness of it and how it affects both alpha and omega
Alpha Clearly is frustrated and sad for being in such dynamics but also happy cuz this way they have a "strong bound" (basically that they are traped together)
This is exacly how omega feels too, whorever omega is afraid of getting closer and being trow away cuz the alpha is the one in power and alpha is afraid to show vunebility and omega leaving him cuz they are together cuz he is the one in power
I think it is a well written history,
and yes sister did mentioned his past but she doesn't know what is happening in their relationship so to me it was her genuinely trying to help the omega to understand alpha's action cuz she knows he doesn't open himself easily (very different of "forgive him, he had a hard life" after just seeing a crime)
I think many authors korean, Chinese and Japanese try to write about omegaverse, whorever omegaverse was born as a allegory to sexism, but many fail to do that (originally 100% of omegas where shity man who thought bad of woman and omegas, that's why most of them "woke" late with a irregular cicle that doesn't get better with pills too cuz "pills work 99% of the time", "it's a fisiological thing you won't die from it you are not special" then people started to draw other perspectives and along the way many just used omegaverse as plot device, to draw sex or as a excuse for shit seme, and even the ones who were trying to draw omegaverse as it was intended fail to write a good story and develop characters) Korea is just the most sexist of all these three, and when you are used to trash man it is hard to imagine something different or know limits to forgivable and unforgivable behavior
Until now the alpha's actions are on the forgivable range, and the omega's response make sense (we are talking about a fictional world where instincts make a omega exited and wanting to fuck and submit just by the smell of a alpha, so of course in this world the definition and perception of rape is messed up, it was intended to be that way exacly cuz it doesn't take away it's a violent and hurtful act, and alpha seems pretty bothered and angry at it even if instincts makes him wanting to do it)

Uhhh I didn't mention the omegaverse/ABO dynamics and the "rape" in my post because that wasn't my issue at all. I've read so many omegaverse stories to know how it works. What I was pointing out was the way the ML/seme's "wrongdoings" were being handled in the story, which I found weird. I get the ick when a character is being shitty and not a single person around them keeps them in check. And in this story it's not because the seme is powerful, but because the people around him are simply written as doormats. It's okay to like a story and still recognize its flaws.

I think to me the alpha himself is doing that, he knows he is being shity, and exacly because he is powerful it makes sense if he doesn't have anything to stop him
I also get the icky with that....that's why I hate the very concept of billionaires and omegaverse/sexism, even more with them together, the fact someone has that much power over others is unethical by itself, and we having to rely and pray they are born with a stong empathy, or good parents cuz we know if they want they have it, is so fucked up
My point is I don't think it is a flaw of the storytelling if it makes us uncomfortable when it is suposed to be uncomfortable....when it was not intended is a problem, and of course the caracter development from now on will have to be good if the author intend to make they end together, but by the alphas troughs I think this character already have the characteristics to make a realistic redemption, BUUUUT it's also the author ability to make it satisfying,
once it is finished we can say if it's a flaw or not, sometimes it is just not your or my cup of tea
Again to me I prefer a real piece of shit having a redemption ark than a "misunderstood" character having a "redemption ark" to me it shows the author doesn't have the ability or is afraid to pull a real redemption ark, I think it's a bold move and FOR NOW I think this author may have the ability cuz I didn't find any unfixable/noticeable inconsistency YET

I talk to people cuz I want to share and get new points of view...in fact I agree with you in mostly everything besides it being a flaw...thats why I commented on it...I do agree that it's cliché and I am also kinda tired of that...but I can't run away of clichés, i already accepted everything is a remix....I try to variate in content but there are times that it seems nothing new comes up, lately I mostly read things I am in the mood for and I judge things based in what the story propose itself to do, like I have a deep hate for the children/saint like mc but sometimes I am in the mood for it, so obviously I will judge her character by consistency and what the story wants me to think of her (like if I find it inconsistent the whole story just feels too nonsense and forced for me to continue)
that's why I don't put it as a flaw here, obviously this story is no masterpiece, in fact this is bellow "okayish", but if I compare to most stuff of similar gender I think it is for now following what it proposes to do
And if I was criticizing something that I trough was a inconsistency and it was just something I maybe miss I would like to know cuz sometimes it can change my whole perspective of the story like I really hated omegaverse, and was used to wolf AOB fantasy world and in the beginning I didn't get it, I just classified it as lazy revenge porn who used aob physiology until someone comented on it to me and it all became it own word
I am just the kind of person who likes to over analyze things (mainly choices of words) and procrastinate studying, so you will catch me writing a Bible of the most random topic quite offen, BTW it was nice talking to you bye

Thanks for sharing your comment! I always had the impression that this manga was lazily written until I read your comment and realised the dynamics between the seme and uke is also affected the seme, but he doesn’t want to show vulnerability and he is in fact afraid that uke will leave him. New appreciation for such subliminal traits ++

You are welcome, it's kinda lazily written, it's basicly the cliché of the cliché, but she did put the important parts.....what is not so difficult, I dunno why most authors have difficulty with character consistency, backstory may explay why but not how
you can't expect us find a suddenly change believable just because "that's how he truly is" (be it a shity character redemption or a likeable character becoming shity)
This author putting his troughs for us to see and how frustrating this situation is for him will make it believable that he truly wants things to be different (not just because he will lose the omega if he doesn't change like some narratives) and that he has the potential to be better as well as making omega's feelings believable not just "omega is the innocent type that falls in love with a face and ends up being used by this bad person but with the power of love he changed this bad guy and omega believes in second chances" but tells he may had reasons to like his friend and when they began to fuck he has reason to believe they would eventually progress to a relationship (cuz they had a emotional connection) and was heart broken when alpha made clear they wouldn't(not because he realized he was being played with, but because he really liked alpha) and also makes sense if he continues to like his friend but also not want to give his heart again

So even after Taegyeom told Haewon not to go to Haeyoung's birthday party, he still went, and of course, things went downhill fast.
Basically Haeyoung invites a bunch of his college friends (I think they were his college friends) and they make fun of Haewon. Haeyoung introduces someone who looks almost exactly like Haewon, which makes Haewon feel terrible because he feels inferior/thinks his look-alike looks better/dresses better, etc.
Haeyoung also disregards Haewon's gift, but accepts the look-alike's gift. Long story short Haewon gets humiliated. He goes to the bathroom to cry, and soon Haeyoung comes in to terrorize him again. Haewon has a flashback of how kind Haeyoung used to be to him, which makes it all more sad.
I kind of forgot what happened next but it's obvious Haewon is really starting to hate Haeyoung.

Very weird to see comments demonizing Haewon for not catering to Taeshin 24/7. I mean he's definitely not a good friend by any means. He doesn't put any effort to being friends with anyone at all. But expecting him to listen to Taeshin yap and yap about himself and whoever his current crush is everytime is so weird. Do YOU enjoy one-sided conversations?? Do YOU like it when someone calls you at 3 A.M. almost everyday, and calls multiple times if you don't answer?? Do YOU like it when someone you don't even like/can't relate with forces themselves to be your friend and hog you for your time/expect you to answer everytime they call?? Liars, all of you. Such pick me behavior.

THANK YOU!
He was basically forced to be his friend, didn't take the initiative and every other person would immediately catch on that this person has no intention to be your friend.
Can't blame Haewon for not being a friend when they never really were in the first place.
Sure it's a tragedy what happened but can't shame anyone really.
"Why am I afraid of you outside of the bedroom as well?" that's the story right there. The MC definitely is too naive and inexperienced to be in a Dom/Sub transaction/relationship, but the thing is, if you're a proper dom, you lay down boundaries explicitly and stick by them. And by explicitly I mean ALWAYS MAKE THINGS CLEAR.
Exactly this conversation should've happened in the beginning
