I read this manga because the plot is a bit like a danmei novel I read recently. But... the whole manga felt a bit rushed. Maybe 5 chapters was too short, it should have been about 7 maybe. The misunderstanding uke had about seme seemed too contrived. I guess it's pretty cute but I was expecting a little more in terms of light angst or something...

It's called 2D Otaku with Social Anxiety Also Wants to Date! and you can find the ongoing translation here https://www.novelupdates.com/series/2d-otaku-with-social-anxiety-also-wants-to-date/ but tbh I read the whole thing via MTL (Google and occasionally reference to a dictionary) on this site https://www.zhenhunxiaoshuo.com/erciyuanshekongyeyaotanlianai/

that book has a sequel with a similar theme, https://www.novelupdates.com/series/who-says-old-two-dimensional-people-cant-get-married/
it's an arranged marriage between two otakus, this time the couple is school teacher otaku/fudanshi x gay doujinshi artist (but there's a misunderstanding at first)
I haven't read the sequel yet, it's supposed to have an uncensored and censored version, you have to be careful to find the uncensored version if you want the good stuff

If are bored and want to binge read, you can check out the BL rec lists I made here: https://www.novelupdates.com/user/170286/magicmau5/
I don't read a lot of Japanese novels because the writing style isn't my fave, but usually if it's a BG romance type I will prefer Korean novels since I feel like the Chinese female leads are too annoying for some reason. Mainly I read danmei though.
There are a lot of completely translated books such as Thrive in Catastrophe, Lovely Allergen, etc that the original fan translators pulled the translations or locked them behind passwords for various reasons, and you can only access them via the online archive by searching on the Wayback Machine. If you don't know how to do that, you just need to find the URL of the most recent translation before it was locked, and search on the Wayback Machine site https://web.archive.org/ and most often you can easily get access. Usually if the website was not deleted, and the only thing that was removed from the website was the novel, you can find it on the archive. Sometimes if the book says it has no chapters on novelupdates, it just means that the fan translator has locked them behind passwords (KKTranslates did that for Global Entrance Examination, you need to get the password through a simple google form). This is true for many novels on Chrysanthemum Garden, you can get the password via their Discord. If it's really difficult to pass the translator's test to access the novel (sometimes they require you to have active accounts on Twitter, Reddit, Discord, and also show a receipt proof for buying the book in Chinese) then I'd recommend searching the Wayback Machine or if all else fails, find the raws in Chinese via various Chinese novel aggregators. Most often you have to use the Chinese aggregators (or search Chinese reader FC2 blogs or danmei forums) if there are locked chapters on the publisher site, or maybe the publisher deleted the book due to increased scrutiny on danmei authors and harsher censorship standards in China recently.

For instance, there's a yaoi JP harem novel I quite like, but for some reason the old site it was on is dead (maybe they couldn't afford to pay for the domain). It's called "Who Said This Was an Otome Game?" and it's similar premise to the webtoon Stuck in My Sister's Dating Sim

I agree so much with your preferences lol. I literally don't know how to thank you enough. This must have took a while to set up so thank you so much. I just got done reading global university entrance exam novel (I saw you mentioned it and it's very good) so I will definitely check this out because aside from a few links that I have saved here and there, I only really get my novels from one other place but they dont have everything so sometimes I can't find what I need. Once again thank you so much for this

if you read Western (novels originally in English) there are also places to read for free, by borrowing from the Internet Archive (a digital public library, you can set up a free account as long as you have an email) or epub pub (has a lot of various kinds of romance novels including very NSFW gay erotica called M/M romance) or another similar novel aggregator... let me give you some links

Western novels I really liked:
Zamonia novels (fantasy) https://archive.org/search?query=zamonia
Parasol Protectorate series (BG romance/supernatural) https://archive.bookfrom.net/series.html?id=13832
Guild Hunter series (BG romance/vampire/angel) https://archive.bookfrom.net/series.html?id=5737979
Straight Guys series (gay erotica/romance, my personal top faves except the Arab ML in book 14 which annoyed me since the author seemed a bit xenophobic)

Yes I have one of those that I've been maining, it's a life saver but I only have the one. For region I kind of just read all over the place. I'm still new as I just started reading novels since over last year or two and have only read about a hand full (and others I have saved planning to read later down the line) I'm very indecisive though on what to read because aside from some classics most of the things I read are really, really long fantasy action type stuff (mostly from Korea) and some danmei stuff here and there which is also really interesting
I got butterflies reading this y is it so shoer im gonna die
