I so confused. So in the new universe, is only Aeroc actually aware of the original story ?

Imprinting is complicated in this universe. It happens when you spend a long time with one omega. This doesn’t count with Aeroc and Clough case because the relationship lasted less than a decade.
The second one, the theory everyone was thinking, is because of the pregnancy. An omega call for protection from their alpha, and Aeroc got pregnant so many times and because of the situation he was put in, he always anxious.
The third one which Aeroc concluded in Lucid Dreams was, the unhealthy relationship that caused Clough’s mental pain. He was already obsessed with Aeroc from the beginning, he chose a wife who looks like him and even went out of his way to mock him, and then Raphael died causing a different more twisted obsession. The years of planning to isolate Aeroc and have his way with him… and finally when he executed it, could be the caused. Check chap 21 of the manhwa, when Aeroc tried to commit suicide for the first time, Clough’s eyes were purple. It means the imprinting was established before the birth of their son. It’s twisted how it got established sadly…
Au Clough was imprinted on Aeroc immediately at contact after there meeting. The dreams is the imprints way of tormenting Clough because he wasn’t with Aeroc. It basically messes with your head. But when his with Aeroc, it feels more calm. He basically need Aeroc to survive when he found out about the imprinting. He does love Aeroc, but he’ll die without Aeroc.

Yeah, I understand that Clough has issues. But I wish he had just been honest and pursued Aeroc.
I think by instinct he also knew that Aeroc was going to be an omega, because Aeroc does mutate in both following arc. So maybe that’s why by instinct he was bothered by Aeroc’s existence.
I’m still waiting for it to be translated on Knoxt but from the rough mtl I read, the doctor explained that it was Aeroc’s exposure to a dominant alpha that triggered it, and he was just born looking like an alpha but might have not differentiated, Aeroc also doesn’t have a knotting system. This might be inaccurate because I did read it using google translate.

You’re welcome! Happy to help (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Sometimes I’m wondering if Raphael’s death didn’t happen, and life just moved on. At what point would have Aeroc mutated, it’s an interesting thought. Was Clough really the main factor? Or can any dominant alpha could affect Aeroc? It’s really interesting hahaha really love Winter’s world building.

True, I can see why people would see Clough as an hypocrite since even though he might criticise the nobles he claims to dislike (which Aeroc ironically is a part of), he also seeks to avoid their scorn and would rather sacrifice his own happiness by pursuing an alpha and marry an omega who looks like him. It makes sense that he would feel even if unconsciously that Aeroc would be an omega since he put so much emphasis on how beautiful he looked (didn't know about Aeroc not being able to knot but that's so interesting)

He is a hypocrite. But the worst part of it is his damn inferiority complex, he actually admitted in his own return that it was the problem. He was aware that Aeroc was out of his league, but how he handled that was really bad. That’s why he was horrified when he realized that Aeroc wasn’t this arrogant cold hearted noble, he was just uptight and awkward around people. His confidence and arrogant attitude was just who he is, and there was no mean intent about it. When the barriers were broken and Aeroc became comfortable around Clough, he was actually really fun, witty and cute. It was sad, because it was easier to hate Aeroc because of what he stands for.
It’s interesting because it wasn’t brought up until vol 5. In Aeroc’s return, Au Clough could smell something sweet coming from Aeroc’s overpowering perfume and was having headaches after. It came out as a medical mutation. Because OG Aeroc had two scents. In v5 since this Au Aeroc was clueless, he was just afraid that he was ill and consulted the doctor and found out that he was mutating. And OG Clough did the rest of the explanation. He noticed that Aeroc’s was too thin, but it didn’t click. The novel is really interesting.
