20 dropped, i wanted to drop at the first chapter , but since someone found it amazing, i thought I’d follow my rule and give it 20c : it’s still a no go frme, but it might actually start after these excruciating show off chapters

What do I dislike ? it’s another idiotic tale about a guy going solo with an op cheat system giving him abilities out of nowhere and for no reasons
What is called « jobless «  is actually more like a jack of all trades trait, called « omnipotent «  .
With a name like that, obviously, it’s not weak, duh.
The bad
Since c1 he has already maxed out all skills he can get. He breezes through the hardest dungeons when his peers get massacred even when they team up, take time and precautions, etc.
It’s a pure ego trip with every characters being struck whith awe at his abilities ( so boring)
The character is about as empty as can be, another orphaned boy, another weak and greedy kid sister (she wants leat - again), and he has only one goal : becoming to be the top of the world (like it makes sense ?) and on what idiotic criteria do you decide of this ?
The world, is again, absolutely ridiculous : you get stronger by killing and destroying, monsters are idiotic having the same destructive rules

The not so bad :
at least there’s no bullying and evaluations are mostly against monsters

A hard working guy meets bad luck when he’s scammed by a landlord who rented him a place which is scheduled to be destroyed (?) (yes he wa sa top worker in a top society, but obviously didn’t learn to read a contract ?)
As the world of evil doesn’t end, he had plenty colleagues and a girlfriend but they all abandoned him when he faced trouble (??).
So being exceptionally bad at choosing his relationship he ends up destitute and suddenly die at the early age of 28
Ok that’s already bad enough
Then he goesback in time (that’s not being reborn !)
As it would be absurd to remember what happened to become a successful cheating time traveler, he literally got some sign boarrd with the big event of the previous year to know where to invest (duh ?)
So now you have a you ambitious guy , who will want to dominate the world and have every girl at his feet (because he was abused before , of course, being nice doesn’t pay ?
And he’s of course, an absolute cheat
As being a time traveler with a road map was not enough
He also is a genius programmer who is going to rtezch the people who really made it big in china
He also hasmore business acumen than the big shots
Then he is also a cultivator (?!)
But don’t forget che was absued by his girlfriend, so he learned to cook in 8different styles - like a pro ! (Duh, what not)
Somewhere you could also add he must he able to brew coffee because he was a successful coffee shop owner in his previous life too
Duh, what did he not do before the age of 28 m? ( note he retired from being a big shots in a society, and he was a university graduate and he was a coffee owner for 3 years, plus the girlfriend thing , seriously this guy probably had several life before,and only never realized it
That’s kind of exhausting … i think ?

Writers, many of them, spent their life expressing ideas , raising the problems of unfairness in society by clever means, showing the pain and the danger of our society, opening path for liberties, challenging the establishment with words and thoughts
Some have been condemned, jailed or hunted for their words. Books were forbidden, burneds, and it’s not mysterious censorship and book destruction appears in all kind of dictatures.
History of freedom is tightly related to literature and their authors
This piece feels vile and disrespectful

Using god as a way to propagate hatred, war and murder is aleady evil
Now using writers to do so is just plain repulsive
When you think of the few names the author used it seriously feels like a bad joke too

Rating and grading talent and building rivalries is also plain ridiculous. How would marketers and their tools be qualified to rate the true value of art ?
The number of sales never represented the talent or the artistic value of a book. As often in art, many writers were neither rich or famous while they lived

A writer talent is seldom if ever inherited , but here you produce genealogy of pen wielders fueling power for destruction
You had inquisition and illegal writers, as if this was not bad enough : an extremist setting is put in place in which murder without question is the answer (even in the bad time of inquisition at least they fake making trials ?)

That world might be semi original, but it stinks, and it’s also completely absurd, as if you believe the system in which the « score » is evaluated by the number of sales, added generations after generations, history would have been quite different, hence artist too.
Add to that, the one from most ancient time would obviously be the top scorers as they started the race centuries sooner ? ( you certainly would need a bit more culture to name a few though)
The prologue also shows alice in wonderland items, but Carol had no descendants and the current descendant of Hugo seems very happy being a cook : luckily his ancestor. Path of life didn’t become a shackle for him to follow his own path

The MC is unpleasant, he’s cynical and arrogant, looking down on every thing and every one.
The object of his revenge being a « Hugo » is so sad, that it totally puts me off. Hugo was a writer with strong humanist beliefs who got involved in politics and he was certainly not someone who would have endorsed this kind of system

If you understand what’s implied when you meet the official descendant of the Hugo, the only way to harness all the power of his ancestor is too kill his brother ? How toxic ? You can already immerse families culling their own kids to have one very strong member at their head, it feels very wrong (not to mention, the son could already be his father’s murderer)

Lastly, in this very sordid setting, the power of a French artist will probably end up being the inheritance of a Korean. I am not questioning nationalities there : but is korean literature so poor you have to borrow americans, English, french, etc.and in the end « steal «  from them ?

40 +72/74 probably not bad, but it’s a genre i dislike
This feels like crime story tv series, but in a magic world ?

I enjoyed the magic, the dragon and the cute MC, but not the direction of the investigation, as It’s too angsty for my taste
There’s obviously a bit of plot , and as in many crime stories, the villains are motivated by either greed or, passion or both - here it seems at least one type of each ?
I probably dropped because the passion driven character feels absolutely miserable from the start, and it just feels bad

I enjoyed the open ending (no romance in the story, maybe after?)

I might finish it someday but not when i’m about to sleep ^^;; anyway, this is not what i expected, but it does not change the above average quality of this title

So basically you had a poor student who worked hard to be the top
Before the story started, super hardworking kid got , i quote, « a mysterious disease «  and went three months into a slump, being exhausted all the time - In the first chapter, the evil meritocratic system want to throw him out of school (duh?)
So first of the school boy, now labeled «  a loser » is saved by … a cheat system for poor loser students ?
No solidarity, no health plan, no working to recover : a cheat , an absolute cheat which makes him know all about something
As if not stupid enough, he also has access to a lottery, and magically becomes … a top appraiser ?
As is too much was not enough, Now he’s also the hidden child of a mafia boss ?
His kind and hardworking parents must not have been enough ? bleh

I would normally dismiss it with a 2, but it’s also full of mean stereotypes : the fat teacher is mean, and the boy get points from humiliating him ( fat shaming, plus reward for aggression)
The sport students is painted as an idiot ( soon to be beaten), the school rival has no morality, and the girls are not only an inferior, but also all over him
I also totally despise the school system entirely based on competition and ranking, it’s not like there’s just one type or intelligence, and even people who are ok with this type of evaluation will have high and lows which can be very detrimental to evaluate one’s levels - I am so glad there are now a few country focused on making learning a happy thing, not giving any evaluation for years and letting kids grow at different pace
This toxic archaic model is both toxic and ineffective

Th MC is a book, he also has low morality and made the kid, who first contracted him explode, and he didn’t care
Then both him and the girl are walking the path of vengeance, lying , stealing, betraying and not caring about others
happiness or self growth are in the way (or so it seems from the glimpse i haad at a few chapters in the 4x)
